【Zeus 薛子楓】
It was, or is, the year 2279.
You wake in a high-tech fallout shelter, built by The Vault-Tech. The code was 111.
In a sunny morning a man in yellowish suit went to your door and knocked. He invited you to the Vault-111 for you have once served for the nation. You agreed.
Then an atomic bomb went off near your own hometown. You and your wife went to the Vault and got into separate 『freezers』 and you all slept.
And that was a 200-year-long sleep.
Fallout 4 is a highly realistic game under it’s own universe, the 『Fallout Universe』. It features another way of the earth being destroyed---By atomic bombs and radiation. Under this setting the world is called Wasteland and people became scavengers and raiders, hunting, searching for weapon, food and ammunition to survive. And you are one of them.
Being a basically FPS game means that the basic elements of the game is shooting and tactics, but no one can say that the Fallout 4 is just like any shoot』em ups. It combines ideas and details that are enough to tell us like almost anything about this Wasteland, about what have happened in the past 200 years of the player’s long sleep. All the details and the forces on the Wasteland tells us a gigantic and absurd story of The Great War, and The Fallout, as the circumstance.
Details about humanity is just too much for a single game. All the things---The environment, the objects and the world the survivors says leads to one thing: The World after the Great War-After the Fallout--Is almost out of humanity, at least out of real humanity and, also, unity.
This is Fallout 4, a game anyone deserves.
Zeus是一直會給人帶來驚喜的孩子，在他的表述裡能夠感受到通過語言解決問題的快樂。他介紹的the Fallout 4其實是一款國際遊戲，一個令大人小孩都很抓狂的東西，但不得不承認，它已經變成部分孩子的一種重要的社交方式。所以，我很高興能夠從孩子們的視角去看看這個難題到底長什麼樣。
完全杜絕遊戲是很難很難做到的，但也有同學已經把它也變成一個學習和運用語言的機會，和各個國家的人組隊時候，要求他們用世界語交流，有語言、也有習慣的碰撞。遊戲的很多設計也拓展了他們對於未來的想像和大膽的創新。
Zeus給我安利過很多遊戲，也和我分享過很多在遊戲裡遇到的語言用法。藉此機會，很想和同學和家長們分享一下對於電子遊戲的看法，遊戲本身不是什麼毒瘤，家長在意的其實是孩子對於自己時間的管理和欲望的控制。學生時代面臨的誘惑可能只是電腦遊戲而已，但成人後，面對的誘惑又何止只是電腦遊戲呢？兒時遇到的困難大部分都不會因為年齡的增長而變得容易，通過一次次嘗試取得進步，學會管理自己的時間和精力才是最重要的。
Zeus is a kid who continuously brings surprises. I can fully sense his happiness from solving problems by language. The Fallout 4 he introduces here is a international video game, which indeed a controversial dilemma for both kids and their parents. However, we have to admitted that video games now is more than just a killing time trick, but a social tool for some people. So, I am so glad to see it from the stance of students who easily get addicted to it.
It is rarely possible to totally stay away from any video games. But there are some students turn it into a opportunity to improve their language abilities as player need to understand the instructions basically and people from different countries are going to form teams to fight together, which requires the use of lingua franca. In addition, the design also push them to think about what the world would be in the future, which the ideal world is and what efforts are supposed to be made.
Zeus has been introducing several games to me and also sharing language appearing in games with me. Here, I want to share my personal ideas on video games. This is not an addiction that will poison the young itself. The reason why it has been blamed is that children who are addicted to games are unable to manage their time and energy reasonably. The things that beaten us down is video games in school days, but if we just leave it and do nothing to solve it, it will still be a problem in adulthood. The accumulation of age will never make things easier. Only struggle and efforts that we made will pay back to us to become a full man.
