今天是正月十五元宵佳節，很多人都說，過了十五就等於過完了年，只能驚嘆於時間過的好快，感覺前一秒還熱熱鬧鬧過新年，下一秒就各奔東西，為了新一年的目標努力奮鬥去了。與時間有關的英文表達，大白之前很多文章都有陸續提到過一些，今天又整理的一部分，分享給大家，希望小夥伴們能喜歡。
1、around the clock
字面意思理解是「圍著時鐘轉」所以其本意就是「全天候，晝夜不斷的」，如果想形容某店24h營業，就可以用這個表達。
同義詞有：
（1）Day-and-night 夜以繼日的
（2）nonstop 不休息的
例句：
（1）Today，commerce and communications never cease but go around the clock.
今天，商務和通信二十四小時不停地進行著。
（2）At first the all -day-and-nighttone sounded something like an air - raid siren.
一開始，整天不間斷的單調聲音就像是空襲警報。
（3）Amy and her group had driven nonstopthrough Spain.
艾米和她的小組成員一刻不停地開車穿過西班牙。
2、call it a day/night
這個表達的意思是「到此為止」，可以表示暫時停止，也可以用作俚語，表示某事已經完全結束了。
例句：Neither of us was happy in the relationship, so we decided to call it a day.
我們倆對這段感情關係都不滿意，所以決定分手。
3、against the clock
這個之前應該有提到過，直譯過來就是「與時間做鬥爭」，所以就可以翻譯成中文「爭分奪秒」的意思。
例句：They are working hard against the clock to translate the novel.
他們正在分秒必爭地翻譯那本小說。
4、call time
如果單從字面理解，大家很容易將其翻譯成「打電話的時間」，其實「call time」的意思是「宣布暫停」，大家是不是不知道啊！
例句：I think we should call timeon this project.
我認為我們應該停止這個項目。
5、days are numbered
當然這個短語也是很好理解的，我們可以理解成「日子屈指可數」，言外之意就是表示某人生命已經時日無多。
例句：The doctors say his days are numbered. They don't have much hope of him surviving this illness.
醫生說他已經時日無多。他們對他在這場病中活下來不抱多大希望。
6、year in, year out
這個短語是不是很形象，一年進，一年出，時光飛逝，人的一生也就是在這年復一年中慢慢消逝。所以如果我們想說「年復一年」，就可以用「year in, year out」這個表達，即連續多年每年都會發生的事情。
例句：Our family holidays are so boring now. Year in, year outwe go to the same holiday resort and stay in the same old hotel!
我們的家庭度假很無聊。年復一年都去同樣的度假地待在同樣的老酒店裡！
