We're all in this together │ 愛護我們共同的家!

Environmental protection month is celebrated in April every year. This is an issue we should all be well aware of and take to heart.  In the Bilingual department we are extremely passionate about the environment and raise our student’s awareness about the importance of caring for the environment through educational activities and lessons.

We began planning for this activity in March to ensure it was perfect for our students.  During our weekly meeting on the 18th of March, our very passionate teacher Miss Cherry came up with a great idea, to decorate reusable bags for shopping! What a lovely idea!

We all decided that the 「spring day outing」 to the flower gardens should be our inspiration for the designs.  During the week of April 21 to April 26 the students had the chance to design and decorate their reusable shopping bags.

It was a great time in the classrooms, the atmosphere was warm and there was a gush of excitement as the students realized that we can make a positive change if we all stand together.  The idea around the bags is that that the students can gift them to someone as a shopping bag so we can reduce the amount of plastic used.  Some students decided to use them as toy bags or picnic bags.  All these ideas are great, it will help reduce plastic waste and the students loved this activity.

We feel very satisfied with our original idea, the students were fully engaged in the lesson and they all pledged to take a stand to protect our precious Earth.

 

每年四月是世界環保月，這個主題應該得到每個人的認真對待。北京王府外國語小學部雙語組的各位老師們對這個問題特別關注，更希望把這個重要的信息用不同的方式或各種活動傳遞給孩子們，讓他們從小關心和愛護我們的環境，並記住：保護環境，人人有責！

在每周一期的教研會上，老師們積極提出自己的建議，一起研究並找出最適合學生們的活動。經過老師們反覆研究後，決定採納黃靜老師的建議——製作精美的環保購物袋，並且大家都覺得「春遊」是很好的主題，可以配合併啟發孩子們進行創作。

春遊回來的雙語課堂上，裝滿了暖暖的春意和孩子們彼此興奮討論的話語。有孩子在說，我要把裝飾好的袋子給我媽媽，讓她用來買東西；有孩子在講，我要讓我家人也少用塑膠袋，用我設計的袋子去買菜；還有的孩子決定用這個袋子裝玩具或野餐包。帶著這些美好的想法，大家認真設計並實施行動。

老師們都覺得這個活動做得非常有意義，學生們也沉浸其中，並且勵志要做環保衛士，保護我們的地球。
