主日七（上）
第二十問：因著亞當，眾人都滅亡了，是否因著基督，眾人就都得救呢？
答：不；
只有那些藉著真信心連於基督，
並接受祂一切恩惠的人才能得救。
第二十一問：什麼是真信心？
答：真信心不僅是一種確實的知識，
藉此我認定上帝在聖經中向我們所啟示的一切皆為真理；
也是一種堅定的信靠，
是由聖靈通過福音在我裡面做成的工作；使我確信，
唯獨出於上帝的恩典，
唯獨因基督的功德，
就白白地將赦罪及永遠的公義和拯救，
不僅賜給別人，
也賜給了我。
第二十二問：什麼是基督徒所必須相信的？
答：就是在福音裡所應許我們的一切，
也就是我們基督教不容置疑的大公信條中簡略地教訓我們的。
禮拜六
聖靈使用一種工具，在上帝的百姓裡面創造信心。這工具就是福音。當人讀到或聽到上帝賜下祂兒子除去他們罪惡的時候，聖靈就動工，使他們心中生出信心。這就是為什麼新約教導說，傳福音十分重要。人們靠著自己不能生出真信心，而上帝使用福音在他們裡面創造信心。
耶穌死在十字架上，把人從他們的罪中拯救出來，這是很簡單的一個信息。很多人覺得這很愚蠢。與人們所喜好的其他東西比起來，聽講道並沒有那麼有趣。所以，有些時候，教會受到誘惑，想要通過其他東西，使人生出得救的信心。但是上帝賜給祂百姓的是福音，就是對十架上的耶穌這一簡單信息的簡單宣講。聖靈是通過福音呼召人們到祂面前，並且改變他們的心，使他們願意回應祂的呼召。請讀羅馬書1:16-17和哥林多前書1:21-24。
羅馬書1:16我不以福音為恥；這福音本是上帝的大能，要救一切相信的，先是猶太人，後是希臘人。
羅馬書1:17因為上帝的義正在這福音上顯明出來；這義是本於信，以至於信。如經上所記：「義人必因信得生。」
哥林多前書1:21世人憑自己的智慧，既不認識上帝，上帝就樂意用人所當作愚拙的道理拯救那些信的人；這就是上帝的智慧了。
哥林多前書1:22猶太人是要神跡，希臘人是求智慧，
哥林多前書1:23我們卻是傳釘十字架的基督，在猶太人為絆腳石，在外邦人為愚拙；

Only those are saved
who through true faith
are grafted into Christ
and accept all his benefits.
Q21. WHAT IS TRUE FAITH?
A. True faith is
not only a sure knowledge by which I hold as true
all that God has revealed to us in Scripture;
it is also a wholehearted trust,
which the Holy Spirit creates in me by the gospel,
that God has freely granted,
not only to others but to me also,
forgiveness of sins,
eternal righteousness,
and salvation.
These are gifts of sheer grace,
granted solely by Christ’s merit.
Q22. WHAT THEN MUST A CHRISTIAN BELIEVE?
A. All that is promised us in the gospel,
a summary of which is taught us
in the articles of our universal
and undisputed Christian faith.
SATURDAY
The Holy Spirit has a tool he uses to create faith in God’s people. That tool is the gospel. It is when people read or hear the good news of God giving his Son to take away their sins that the Holy Spirit does his work and produces faith in their hearts. That’s why the New Testament teaches that preaching the gospel is so important. People cannot create true faith on their own, and the gospel is what God uses to create it in them.
The message of Jesus dying on the cross to save people from their sins is a very simple message. Many think it is foolish. And listening to preaching is not very exciting, compared to other things people enjoy doing. So sometimes, churches are tempted to use other things to bring about saving faith in people. But God gave his people the gospel, the simple preaching of the simple message of Jesus on the cross. It’s through the gospel that the Holy Spirit calls people to himself and changes their hearts so they will respond to his call. Read Romans 1:16–17 and 1 Corinthians 1:21–24.
16For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 「The righteous shall live by faith.」
21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
