現在請腦補一個畫面：
約了歪果仁朋友一起去打球，到了約定時間還沒來，打電話去詢問發現打不通，等他到的時候，來了句：
「I’m so sorry, my cellphone is out of juice.」
你以為是「手機掉果汁裡了」，還表示惋惜，回答：
「Oh, pity for you. You can buy a new phone.」
這時候你會看見歪果仁一臉懵X。感覺周圍空氣都安靜了幾秒。
真相只有一個：
Juice 在這裡是俚語，代表「power」，out of juice就是out of power，也就是沒有電的意思。
除此之外，juice還有其他的含義：
1.汽油
例：The car ran out of juice on the last lap. 車在最後一圈時沒有汽油了。
2.活力
例：He is full of the juice of life. 他很有活力。
3.影響力
例：He does not have enough juice to alter the policy. 他沒有足夠的影響力來改變政策。
Tips：這個影響力也可以引申為我們中文中的「有關係，走後門」。
例：Do you have any juice? 你有沒有什麼後門可以走？
還有一些跟juice相關的常用口語表達：
1. on the juice
這個可不是表示正在喝果汁，而是表達酗酒，狂飲作樂。
對話應用：
A：Bob, do you know where is Amy? I can’t get through her？鮑勃，你知道艾米在哪嗎？我聯繫不上她。
B：She won’t be able to return your call. I’m afraid she’s on the juice again. 她不會給你回電的。我擔心她又酗酒了。
2. juice up
可以表示充滿活力，使精神振奮，提起精神來。

B：Good choice. A thing like that can really juice you up. 很不錯，那樣的事的確能使你提起精神來。
3. juice man
這個表達可不是喝果汁的人哦，反而在美國口語中，是與黑社會相關的表達，表示代高利貸討債的人或打手。
對話應用：
A：Bob, can you borrow me $20,000 for emergency? The interest of usury is unfairly high. 鮑勃，你能借我2萬美元應急嗎？高利貸的利息實在太高了。
B：No problem. You should never think about usury. If you can’t pay your debt, the juice man would be your nightmare. 沒問題，你就不應該想著去借高利貸，要是你還不上，那些高利貸討債者會成為你的噩夢。
4. juice loan
這個詞也是跟黑社會有關，表示高利貸，驢打滾。
對話應用：
A：Bob, Do you have a second for checking my loan? I’m not sure whether it’s legal or not. 鮑勃，你能花點時間幫我看看這個貸款嗎？我不知道這個是不是合法的。
B：Amy, I tell you the truth. It’s definitely illegal. This a juice loan, not a low interest loan. 艾米，我實話告訴你，它絕對不合法。這是高利貸，不是低息貸款。
5. stew in one’s own juice
字面意思用自己的汁燉自己，發散一下其實就是自作自受；自食其果的意思
對話應用：
A：I heard Tom was caught cheating in the exam. 我聽說湯姆考試作弊被抓了。
B：I can say that he had to stew in his own juice. 我只能說他這是自作自受。
