Using language的第一部分的Listening要求學生take notes while listening進一步提高聽力水平。第二部分中Speak and write down a short list of reasons for your choice練習 It can be proved that…because……第三部分Read a letter from a German newspaper and write a reply to this letter and give a reason why you agree or don’t agree with the writer.通過這樣的語言輸入和輸出技能訓練,培養學生英語語言綜合運用能力。
About Teaching procedure:
★Warming up
The purpose of this Warming Up is to make students aware of what a cultural relic is and what it is not.J[is a good opportunity to teach them how to define ideas in English.開門見山告訴學生文物的定義,假設你是文物辦公室的工作人員,如何在小村莊處理一起罕見明朝花瓶被盜案件;假設你是一個文化遺產部的工作人員,在一個小村鎮調查一個罕見的明朝花瓶被盜事件。讓學生對文物的定義有所了解,啟發學生思考關於文化遺產的歸屬問題,激發學生的文化遺產保護意識。
★Pre-reading 是Reading的熱身部分,通過二個問題喚起學生對已知古今中外文化遺產的回憶,及抒發麵對現實中無數文化遺產不復存在的事實的情感,在豐富的信息輸入和學生固有知識被喚醒之後非常容精讀課文I Search of the Amber Room,帶著學生走進尋找丟失了的普魯士國王威廉一世送給俄羅斯沙皇的那個琥珀屋齡牟羅移妒毀、重建的奇妙歷史。
提出兩個問題。第一問是說出一個你了解的文化遺產,如果這個文化遺產不見了:你會感覺如何,為什麼會有這樣的感覺?另一個問題是你發現了一個文化遺產,你會怎麼處理它?這兩個問題不僅考查學生對待文化遺產的態度,引出Reading:In Search of the Amber Room,為閱讀做好鋪墊。
★Reading 是關於尋找丟失了的普魯士國王威廉一世送給俄羅斯沙皇的那個琥珀屋,再現它的建造、被毀、重建的歷史過程。通過閱讀讓學生從文化遺產的歷史中,體驗人類文明發展的過程,提高學生保護文化的意識。
★Comprehending 既有知識性的問題,讓學生了解文章的細節(Exercise l),同時又跳出了課文,對文章進行了整體評價( Exercise 2),由易到難,有梯度,全面考查了學生對文章的理解。
★Learning about language Discovering useful words and expressions和 Discovering useful structures兩部分。其中第一部分首先安排了根據英培釋義搭配詞彙的練習,力求鞏固學生對新詞彙的理解和記憶。Exercise 2練習belong to的詞義和用法。Exercise 3練習介詞at的用法。針對本單元的語法重點——定語從句,第二部分的Exercise 1是從文中教e 1是從文中找出7個含語從句的句子,啟發學生去發現、歸納和複習限制性定語從句。然後進行大飼練習。同時在Exercises 3引人非限制性定語從句的教學與訓練。
★Learning by Using 中的 Reading, listening and writing通過對evidence, fact和opinion三個詞的講解辨析,同時結合琥珀屋離奇失蹤對學生進行聽力訓練,有效地幫助學生將所學的內容與實際判斷能力的培養結合起來。而在Speaking and writing中則繼續圍繞上面的話題,讓學生交流聽力內容,然後寫出文字材料。最後,把教材內容推向深入,在Reading and writing中展示不同人對待國家文化遺產的不同態度,引發學生的思考,讓他們發表自己的看法,具有現實意義。
★Summing up從有用的動詞、動詞短語、其他的表達和新句型結構四個角度總結本單元內容,並總結所學的有關文化遺產方面的知識。Learning tip建議學生親自去博物館看一些中國文化遺產,並主動擔當導遊向外國遊客介紹這些文化遺產,同時練習英語口語,並向外國遊客學習英語,同他們交朋友。

本單元話題----文化遺產(cultural relics)是全世界較為關注的焦點之一,是具有現代意義的時尚話題。本單元內容生活化,富有活力,體現了新教材的一個重要特徵---緊扣時代脈搏,富有時代氣息。整個單元自始至終圍繞「文化遺產」這一話題內容,反映了《新課程標準》所提出的「向學生滲透人文理念和注重對學生文化意識的薰陶」的要求,語言技能言和知識的設計圍繞「文化遺產」話題展開。教師利用本單元素材不但可以傳授英語知識而且可以在教學過程中通過滲透的方式將文物保護知識有機地滲透於課堂教學之中,培養學生愛護人類文明、保護文物古蹟、熱愛偉大祖國的思想品德。
