這幾天被熱搜和朋友圈瘋狂安利《隱秘的角落》這部劇，當大家都在說爬山梗的時候，我內心真的有很多問號。
但是後來看了劇之後，我的內心五味雜陳，甚至還有一絲瑟瑟發抖。
以後怕是再爬山的時候難免會有一些陰影了。
好了，言歸正傳，作為靠譜的英語學習號主，看劇的時候學點英文表達才是正事兒。
雖然這是一部中文劇集，但是為了突顯國際化，還是要有英文名字的，萬一以後就文化出口了呢。
《隱秘的角落》這部劇改編自小說《壞小孩》，所以官方給它取的英文名是《The bad kids》。
但是，據報導，它還有一個英文名《Cat's cradle》。直譯就是「貓的搖籃」，好像有點不明所以的樣子。但是查一下字典你就會發現cat's cradle在英文裡特指「翻花繩」這個遊戲（a game in which you wrap string around the fingers of both hands to make different patterns ）。
那《隱秘的角落》這部劇為什麼會起翻花繩這個英文名呢？因為美國黑色幽默作家Kurt Vonnegut在上個世紀有一部代表作就是《Cat's cradle》。「翻花繩可以翻出各種不同的花樣，可無論你怎麼翻，那裡面沒有貓，也沒有搖籃，一切的一切，都只是人們幻想中的騙局」。這也是貫穿《Cat's cradle》這部荒誕離奇小說的主題，而《隱秘的角落》這部劇可能也是借鑑了這一寓意，以此來暗示人性中的謊言與秘密。
