這個詞組和「for example」基本可以完全替代，舉個例子：

這個詞可能很多同學都不熟悉，其實也可以用來介紹文章中前段的論點，提供更準確、詳細的信息。比如：
Minor crimes should not have the same penalty as major crimes, namely murder.
同學們常用的「evidence」主要是它的名詞形式，當用作動詞時是「作...的證據」，也可以當做「for example」的同義替換進行具體的說明，給大家看個例子：
However, seat belts also involve a degree of inconvenience, as evidenced by the unwillingness of many people to use them.
先直接給同學們看例句：
Art is living proof of history, so we must preserve it.
這裡的意思是「art」也是「history」的一種，相當於用比較隱藏的手法舉了一個例子，同學們也可以學習一下~
