①泛指「其它的」人或物，相加不等於總數。
②後接複數名詞。
③與數字連用時，放在數字之後。

第一種情況：總數是兩個，one....the other....一個另一個。

第二種情況：總數是多數，「some.....the other+名詞複數」,一些......剩餘的那些......」，相加等於總數。

3.others，
①就是other的複數形式。
②泛指「另外幾個」，「其餘的」。相加不等於總和。
③some...others...一些...另一些.....
④others=other +複數名詞。
There are 20 students in the classroom.Some like dancing,some like singing,and others like sports.(喜歡跳舞的+喜歡唱歌的+喜歡運動的≠總數20人。)
4.the others，
①就是the other的複數形式。
②特指「剩下的那些」，相加等於總數。
③the others=the other +複數名詞。

5.another,
①三者或三者以上人或物中的「另一個」，相加不等於總數。
②another+單數名詞。
③與具體數字連用時，放在數字前。
