今天我們來學習「Get Roped Into".這個詞組聽起來似乎有點怪怪的，聽起來像是你在競技表演（It sounds like you are at a rodeo）。而且讀起來也不是很順口，一起來看一下：
＞A:Hey,do you have any plans for the weekend?
嘿，你周末有什麼計劃嗎?
＞B:Well,I did have plans to go hiking.But my friend asked me to cat-sit.so I guess I'm just staying around town.
嗯，我確實有去遠足的計劃。但是我的朋友讓我去照顧他的貓。所以我想我只是呆在城裡。
＞A:Are't you allergic to cats?How did you get roped into that?
你不是對貓過敏嗎?你是怎麼做到的?（也可以翻譯成「你是怎麼被說服的？」，但是有點生硬：）
＞B:I don't know.I just can't say no to this friend.
我不知道。我不能拒絕這個朋友。
To "get roped into something" means to be persuaded to do something.Often something you do not really want to do.In our example,B got talked into watching a friend's cat.The use of the word"rope"probably cames from cowboys,who use a lasso to rope young cows while riding a horse.
To"get roped into something"意思是被說服去做某事，通常是你不想做的事情。在我們的例子中，B被說服去看一個朋友的貓。「rope」這個詞的用法可能來自於牛仔，他們騎馬時用套索套住小牛。
