實際上，「垃圾分類師」這個職業我們並不陌生。不同的是，我們傳統意義上的「垃圾分類師」是在人們投放垃圾之後，在垃圾分類站進行分類，而「上門垃圾分類師」的亮點則在其「上門回收固定種類廢品」。從事這一新興職業的大概有專職和兼職兩種。因其便民性，這個新興職業備受上海市民的歡迎。
Actually, we are familiar with the the phrase 垃圾分類師 (lā jī fēn lèi shī) (garbage sorters). 上門垃圾分類師 refers to those people who provide a home service for some fixed kinds of garbage sorting, which seems to be currently popular in Shanghai. Some of them work as full-time garbage sorters, while some just take it as part-time.
線上接單之後，「上門垃圾分類師」會前往其客戶家裡，將垃圾分類，然後帶走。據說，不少「上門垃圾分類師」已靠「收垃圾」月入過萬。
After receiving online reservations, they sort garbage at their customers' houses and then take the garbage away. It is said that some of them can earn a monthly salary of up to RMB 10,000, making it a new high-paying job.

對於為了「垃圾分類」絞盡腦汁的上海市民來說，這種上門服務在他們適應新規的過程中起到了非常好的作用。因為不少市民對四種不同類型垃圾的分類仍然感到非常困惑：可回收垃圾、有害垃圾、溼垃圾和幹垃圾，究竟該怎麼分類。
