Can you imagine that at dusk of September 12, 2046, an X-47B dimensional aircraft will impact the territory of Carolina, the United States? Will it be heralded as the beginning of a historical epoch:the direct communication between the aliens and the humans?
Before this question is answered, it is presumably necessary to clarify a problem: How to define the extraterritorial species? In our view, an exotic creature from another planet has such unusual features as a bald head, wide-apart eyes and a long tail. In this situation, passive emotion is invariably invoked, rather than a sense of pride swelling from our hearts. In several social surveys, an overwhelming majority of interviewees told the reporters that instead of being proud, they would probably become anxious about this visit, not only because of these aliens』 abstruse linguistic structure, but also on account of their monstrous features. By comparison, those who expect the arrival of outer space species accounted for an insignificant part. The survey indicates that due to the above-mentioned barriers, it is less possible for the humans to feel proud of the unexpected visit of outer space species.
Additionally, in terms of an advanced civilization, human beings are not justified to take pride in their communication with the aliens. For one thing, this civilization is usually synonymous with the cutting-edge technologies. For another thing, the same thing can be interpretedas the destructive military capability, which would probably be superior to the current military strength of any country on the earth. If this is the case, the aftermath is not a feeling of pride, but a surge of panic. In this situation, the primary concern of people on the earth is to defend their lives and protect their territory. The conclusion is that it is extremely hazardous to establish direct communication with these uninvited visitors from a distant galaxy.
However, some readers might argue that communication with aliens might be a blessing for humans. By introducing new technology from those aliens, people on the earth can solve many practical problems. Nevertheless, this assumption is essentially questionable, because it lacks sufficient evidence to demonstrate that these aliens are friendly, or that they are in possession of the technology that human beings aspire to. So as far as modern technology is concerned, it is also unrealistic to expect the aliens』 arrival.
To summarize, I』d like to emphasize my point of view. It is unwise for humans to feel proud of their communication with the species from another planet. Some people might remain unconvinced, emphasizing that my conclusion is traditional and conservative. However, it is at least rational and realistic.
