No.1 Quilt
A quilt has 3 layers; a quilt top which is usually pieced fabric, a middle layer which is called the batting, wadding or filling, and the backing. All three layers are stitched together, which is the actual quilting part.
layer: 層
fabric: 材質
batting, wadding or filling: 棉心
stitch: 縫
These are usually thicker and heavier than blankets and used to stay warm in winters.
thick: 厚的
heavy: 重的
No.2 Blanket
A blanket is usually one layer of fabric. These are thicker than bed sheets, but not like quilts.
bed sheet: 床單
This is a fur blanket.
fur blanket: 毛毯
No.3 duvet
A duvet tend to be plain white and more thickly filled. They are intended to either replace a regular comforter altogether or to be an extra cover on top of a regular comforter. Typically not used in the US.
Duvet 可以直接蓋,或者加上被套 Duvet cover以便保護 Duvet,基本是純白或純一色.
No.4 comforter
A comforter is a thicker type blanket which has minimal stitching on it to keep the layers together.
正如名字一樣，厚實、舒服。
