英語系不一定知道的walk表達
這兩天，各國媒體都在熱炒柯林頓女兒大婚的消息。我們知道在英文裡結婚的說法有很多，其中就有walk down theaiskle這個短語。今天，我們就由此舉一反三，來說說關於walk的四個短語。
1. To walk downthe aisle 結婚
西方人結婚一般都要在教堂裡舉行婚禮。在舉行婚禮時，新娘穿著白色的禮服，挽著自己的父親，隨著結婚進行曲從教堂入口一直走到主持婚禮的牧師面前。因此，towalk down the aisle就是「結婚」的意思。

2. To walk theplank 被解僱
Plank就是很厚的木板。據說，過去海盜攔截船隻後會逼迫沒有利用價值的人們走到一塊木板上，然後將他們推進海裡。To walk theplank的說法由此得來，現在多指「被除名」。
When you takeover the store, think twice about making the manager walk theplank. It may not be easy to find another one as honest andefficient as he is。
你接管店鋪的時候，解僱經理這個問題要三思而行。因為要找一個像他那樣老實又有效率的經理恐怕不是那麼容易的。
3. To walk onair 洋洋得意
在形容一個人很高興，很得意的時候，中文經常說這個人走路輕飄飄，好像騰雲駕霧一樣。英文裡也有類似的說法，就是to walk onair。

4. To walk thefloor 心神不寧

我同屋近幾個星期都一直心神不寧的，他在考慮到底要不要向他女朋友求婚。他很愛她，但是他自己也不清楚他現在是否做好了安家立業的準備。
