中文：所有大鼠都未檢測到Francisella tularensis。
原譯：Francisella tularensis was not detected in all rats.
上面的英文表達正確嗎？
在英語中否定詞（比如：no、not）和all、every-、both這些詞連用時，表示部分否定，即「不是所有都…」或「不是每一個都…」。
所以，原譯表達出的意思是：不是所有大鼠都檢測到了Francisella tularensis。
顯然和中文意思不相符。
因此，要表達全部否定的意思，我們就要避免使用all、every-、both這些詞，否則一不小心就會表達出部分否定的意思。
我們可以選擇not … any、no … any、none這些詞或組合，比如：
Francisella tularensis was not detected in any rat.
Francisella tularensis was not detected in any of the rats.
No Francisella tularensis was detected in any rat.
No Francisella tularensis was detected in any of the rats.
Francisella tularensis was detected in none of the rats.
注意：none本身已經有否定的含義了，所以不再需要否定詞。
另外，值得注意的是，如果表示二者的全部否定，可以使用neither和not … either這些詞或組合，比如：
It was not detected in either group.
It was not detected in either of the two groups.
It was detected in neither group.
It was detected in neither of the two groups.
注意：either要和否定詞連用，而neither本身已經有否定的含義了，所以不再需要否定詞。
