2021年1月20日美東時間11點48分，喬·拜登（Joe Biden）在國會大廈（the Capitol）前舉行的就職典禮上宣誓，正式就任美國第46任總統。

卡瑪拉·哈裡斯（Kamala Harris，中文名賀錦麗）也宣誓就任副總統，成為美國歷史上第一位女性副總統，第一位「非裔」和「南亞裔」副總統。

就職典禮後，拜登總統發表演說，呼籲美國人民「團結一致」應對前所未有的挑戰。

This is America's day. This is democracy's day. A day of history and hope of renewal and resolve through a crucible for the ages. America has been tested anew and America has risen to the challenge. Today, we celebrate the triumph not of a candidate, but of a cause, the cause of democracy. The people, the will of the people, has been heard and the will of the people has been heeded.

We've learned again that democracy is precious, democracy is fragile and, at this hour my friends, democracy has prevailed. Defined by the common objects of their love. What are the common objects we as Americans love, that define us as Americans? I think we know.
