Reading good books can feel like travelling to new places. Over the past week we have focused our attention on fun-filled reading activities to deepen our adoration for the beloved pastime of reading!
一年級的孩子正是對書本充滿無限期待和渴望的階段,孩子們很高興可以跟隨主人公「多裡斯·洛裡斯」一起去探索雨林中的動物。讀完這個故事,孩子們深受感動,紛紛想要創作屬於自己的故事書!
In Grade one, the children were excited to explore the animals of the rainforest through our story Doris the Loris. Through this exciting tale, the students were inspired to create their own storybooks!
二年級的學生們用紙袋、剪刀、膠水和彩紙製作木偶,讓他們最喜歡的書本人物「小豬」和「大象」活靈活現的在手指間翻轉。
Students in second grade made their favorite characters Piggie and Elephant come alive by using paper bags, scissors, glue and colored paper to create puppets!
三年級的學生非常享受傾聽Vooks上面的故事,並且結合故事回答了很多與ELA課程內容相關的問題,如故事主人公、背景、時間、遇到的問題以及最終解決方案等。同時,同學們還在班級分享了他們最喜歡的閱讀地點,也分享了他們在日常生活中最喜歡和誰一起閱讀的小秘密。
Grade 3 students had great fun listening to stories from Vooks (Animated Storybooks) and answering questions related to ELA, such as the characters, setting, time, problem and solution. Students also shared some of their favorite places to read and whom they enjoy reading with the most.

The fourth graders found some interesting spots around the school for some quiet reading time. They brought pillows from home to comfortably read and share their favourite books.

After hearing performance tips from famous poet Michael Rosen, fifth graders laughed and listened to each other read aloud as they acted out different characters from playscripts.
