Apple could be eyeing a new data center in western Taiwan, according to a report from the country’s third biggest newspaper, United Daily News.
根據臺灣第三大紙媒《聯合報》的報導透露，蘋果公司將在臺灣西部地區建設新的數據中心。
The publication claims a source said that the facility will be built to meet increasing traffic for iTunes and Apple TV.
《聯合報》獲得消息稱，該數據中心主要是為應對不斷增長的iTunes和Apple TV流量而建設。

UDN (via TheNewsLens) said that Apple has been looking at Taiwan’s Changhua County as a possible location for a new data center, with an announcement from the county government expected next month, if the deal goes through.
《聯合報》表示，蘋果公司正考慮將臺灣彰化縣作為潛在的數據中心選址地點，縣政府透露稱如果交易進展順利，預計下個月就要開展探勘工作。
Talking to the Republic of China (Taiwan) state-owned Central News Agency, the Changhua County Government did not confirm or deny the report, but added that the area Apple is thought to be interested in is ready for investment and the construction of new facilities.
經DCD向臺灣中央通訊社求證，彰化縣政府對這項消息並未作出任何回應，但補充說蘋果公司正在考慮的地區已經開始資金籌備和新設施建設的工作。
Notably, Google chose Changhua for its $666 million data center, and the county was a site of interest for Facebook, which considered building a data center in the region last year.
眾所周知，谷歌在彰化建數據中心，耗資達6.66億美元。同時，彰化也成為Facebook的理想選址之一，去年爆出消息稱將在彰化建數據中心。
Taiwan is also home to Quanta Technology, a company which has made a name for itself by delivering web-scale data center hardware built according to specifications defined by the Open Compute Project.

Last year, subsidiary Quanta Cloud Technologies opened a test and demonstration lab in its San Jose, US headquarters to showcase its OCP data center products.
