這部新片於去年12月25日上映，根據片方官方微博發布的統計數據，電影票房目前已突破4億。此前，因為其小說《夢裡花落知多少》抄襲莊羽小說《圈裡圈外》，12月31日零點整，電影導演、小說作者郭敬明發布微博，為自己15年前的抄襲（plagiarize）行為道歉。而郭敬明的道歉信發出不久，編劇於正也在微博上就6年前劇作《宮鎖連城》侵犯《梅花烙》版權一事向瓊瑤道歉……
The report comes as Guo Jingming, an author and the director of the film, apologized last Thursday for plagiarizing another author's work in one of his novels from nearly two decades ago.

在聲明中，郭敬明坦陳2006年其小說《夢裡花落知多少》被法院判定抄襲莊羽的《圈裡圈外》，當時判決要求其向被抄襲者公開致歉，或在報紙上直接刊登法院判決書。郭敬明稱，「年少輕狂的虛榮和抗拒讓我選擇了逃避道歉，以直接在報紙上刊登判決書來履行法律懲罰。當時自己一度很反抗，不肯承認自己的錯誤。」Guo Jingming published an apology on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo at midnight on the last day of 2020, admitting he had copied Zhuang Yu’s novel 「In and Out of the Circle」 in his bestselling novel 「Never Flowers in Never Dreams.」 He had refused to apologize for almost 15 years since a court ruled that he plagiarized Zhuang's work.In his statement, Guo said he was 「too arrogant and young」 and was afraid to face his mistakes earlier.
