可別小看了定冠詞the的作用，有它沒它意思可能大不同。
☑The girl in red is my girlfriend.
那個身穿紅衣服的姑娘是我的女朋友。
（in black-穿黑衣；in pink-穿粉衣）
☑The printing company was in the red.
這家印刷公司出現了赤字。
☑ People here still make clothes by hand.
這裡的人們依然手工製衣。
☑ I took my sister by the hand.
我拉著姐姐的手。
☑ Most exports went by sea.
大部分出口貨物走海運。
☑ We bought a small cottage by the sea.
我們買了一棟靠海的小屋。
4in person VS. in the person
☑ 你必須親自參加這個會議。
You must attend this meeting in person.
☑ 他替我哥哥來幫忙了，還帶了啤酒和吃的。
The help arrived in the person of my brother, who brought beer and food.
5in front of VS. in the front of
前者表示「在……外部的前面」，後者表示「在……內部的前面」
☑ There are many trees in front of the classroom.
教室的前面有很多棵樹。(樹在教室外)
☑ There is a big desk in the front of the classroom.
教室的前面有一張大課桌。(桌子在室內)
6in case of VS. in the case of
前者表示「萬一……」，後者則表示「在……的情況下」
☑ In case of fire, please ring the bell.
萬一失火，請拉警鈴。
☑ In the case of learning Chinese, many foreign students feel hard.
