以前，我去看望一位老人家，我給他獻一條哈達，又祝願他長久住世！這位老人家對我有信心，他聽我這麼說，很緊張，也很不好意思，他說：＂上師，您怎麼可以說讓我長久住世，我住世有什麼用啊？＂我說：＂你只要有錢就想著去放生，不管多少，10元，20元，省下來去放生，你應該長久住世啊！＂真的，他很有智慧，知道應該把錢用在什麼地方，他發心救眾生參與放生，心這麼好，我非常感謝他！
Once I visited an old man. I offered him a hada and wished him a long life! The old man has faith with me. After hearing what I said, he was very nervous and said to me embarrassed: 「My guru, how can you wish me a long life and what’s the use of it?」 I said: 「Once you have money, you set animals free, no matter how much it is. You save money for releasing animals. You should live a long life!」 The old man indeed has wisdom and knows where to use the money. He’s so kind-hearted that he aspirates for all sentient beings and releases animals. I am very grateful to him!
他還經常這樣說：我吃的住的都很滿足，也不想到處跑，錢藏著也沒有什麼意義，趁我現在還在的時候好好安排，把錢用在善法上。
He often said: I’m content with what I eat and where I live. I don’t want to travel. There is no meaning to save money. So I spend it on good acts.
同樣也是老人，有些不知道怎麼去用錢，藏著不捨得用。這輩子擁有財富是大家修來的福報，要把這些修來的財富用在善法上，這樣才有意義嘛！
However, there are other senior people who don’t know how to use their money. They save it instead of spending it. Wealth in this life is a blessing. It will make sense only if you spend it on good acts!
