移民澳大利亞不久，國內的幾樁生意由於諸多因素先後陷入了困境。當某一天，我身上只剩下三澳元的時候，
Shortly after immigrating to Australia, I had several domestic businesses fail due to many factors. One day, I had only three dollars left.
望著不諳世事的孩子，我只好放棄了去大學繼續深造的機會，硬著頭皮去找了一份飯店的工作。
Looking at my daughter who didn’t know anything about the world, I had to give up the opportunity to go to college to continue my studies, and went to a hotel to look for a job.
於是，什麼都不懂的我在老闆娘的叫喊和訓斥聲中慢慢變成了「麵點師」。
So, knowing nothing about pastry, I slowly became a pastry cook under the supervision of a yelling and reprimanding proprietress.
至今我也無法相信，那個孤傲的我如何可以在元旦的時候，頂著老闆娘瘋狂的罵聲和讓我馬上滾出去的侮辱聲，咬牙堅守在「崗位」上而沒有扔掉手中的工具走人！？
I still can’t believe it now. How could I stand the screams and the insults of the proprietress stopping me going out on New Year’s Day, without throwing away the tools in my hands and leaving!?
利用這點在「罵「聲中學來的技術，我先後在雪梨開了三家飯店，一個女人，在男人的世界裡掙扎，困難是可想而知的。
Eventually, taking advantage of the skills I learned by being insulted by the proprietress, I opened three restaurants in Sydney. For a woman, struggling in the world of men, the difficulty was immense.
我每天穿梭於三個飯店之間，賺不賺錢不知道，卻忙得跟總理似的。
I travelled among three restaurants every day. I didn’t know if I was making money, but I was as busy as the prime minister.
幾乎每天都有各種故事發生：
Almost every day, various crises happened. Such as:
一會兒廚房油鍋著火了，
...the kitchen pan caught fire;
一會兒室內漏雨了，
… the roof leaked;
會兒飯店棚頂塌了，
… the ceiling collapsed;
一會兒食品監管的人來了.
… the food inspector came ...
每天都有故事發生，所有的故事都不同，往事歷歷在目。這是一個「大打出手」的故事。
Every day, the stories happened and all the stories were different. This is the story of 『the big fight』 ….
生活在澳大利亞的華人，尤其是在中餐館打工的華人，雖然賺錢較多，但是工作壓力也很大。
For Chinese living in Australia, especially Chinese working in Chinese restaurants, although they make more money, the work-pressure is also great.
有些人一周工作超過七十小時，除了必要的睡眠時間，幾乎都在緊張地工作。
Some people work more than 70 hours a week doing several jobs. Except for the necessary sleep time, they work almost all day long.
沒有充分的休息，神經始終繃的很緊，工作又相對地比較辛苦和枯燥，所以脾氣很容易暴躁，人際關係也比較脆弱。
Without adequate rest, their nerves are always tight and the work is relatively hard and boring, so tempers flare easily, sometimes violently, and interpersonal relationships can be relatively fragile.
加之每個人都來自不同的國家或地區，生活習慣、喜好、文化背景等差異較大，
In addition, everyone comes from different countries or regions, and their living habits, preferences, cultural backgrounds, etcetera, are quite different.
所以，廚房裡爭爭吵吵的事情時有發生。
Therefore, quarrels in the kitchen sometimes occurred.
這天，正忙得人仰馬翻，飯店外面排著長隊。師傅們緊張地工作著，突然兩個師傅因為話不投機而爭執起來。
One day, my staff were all busy as there were long queues outside the restaurant. The chefs were working hectically. Suddenly two of them started to argue and began to fight.
我進來送單，剛剛一腳邁進廚房，就見一個師傅揮著炒勺，雙眼紅腫，眼角流著血，
I came into the kitchen with an order and saw one of them waving a stir-fry pan, his eyes red, swollen and bleeding.
一個師傅頭上流著血，菜刀高舉過頭，正準備向另一個師傅砍下去。
The other chef had blood on his head, and was holding a kitchen knife over his head, about to stab his colleague.
我想也沒想迎著菜刀衝了上去，我比較瘦小，根本沒有辦法奪下菜刀。
I rushed to the kitchen knife without thinking. But I was relatively small and had no way to grab it.
這時候，廚房的其他員工都嚇得跑了出去。
By now, the other employees in the kitchen had run out, scared.
只有一個廚房雜工站在那裡，他是中國來的留學生，運動員出身，身手敏捷，
There was only one kitchen handyman standing there. He was an international student from China, who used to be a sportsman. He was agile.
他見狀一個箭步衝了上來，使出渾身解數協助我奪下菜刀。
When he saw the situation, he rushed up and made every effort to help me grab the knife.
情況非常緊迫，因為失血過多，一位師傅比較危險，必須緊急送往醫院。
The situation was very urgent, because one of the men had lost too much blood and must be sent to the hospital right away.
我又要處理飯店的善後事宜，解決滿屋子仍不知情的客人的就餐問題。
But I couldn’t take him myself as I had to deal with the aftermath, solving the problem of dining for guests who were still unaware of the situation.
情急之下，我打電話給朋友，請他們過來幫忙。在我打通電話後，朋友回復我說馬上就到。
In a hurry, I called my friends and asked them to come and help. God once again extended a helping hand to me. After I called, my friends replied that they would arrive soon.
而且他們當中，正有一位剛剛從中國飛來的廚師。
I was very lucky that among them, there was a chef who had just flown from China.
一行人飯也沒吃馬上趕了過來，朋友將受傷的廚師迅速送往附近的醫院救治。
A group of people who not yet been served their meal, rushed over and quickly sent the injured chef to a nearby hospital for treatment.
那位從中國飛來的師傅，以他豐富的廚房經驗馬上駕馭了局面。
The chef who had just flown in from China immediately took control of the situation with his rich kitchen experience.
客人都在熱火朝天地等菜，天南地北的聊侃，根本沒有注意到剛剛的廚房差一點發生了＂血䅁＂。
The guests were all waiting for the dishes, talking with each other cheerfully, and didn’t notice that the kitchen had just been 『bloodied』.
師傅們經過一番救治，己無大礙。
After a period of treatment, the two chefs both healed and there was no sequel.
兩位師傅平日裡和我關係不錯，也認識到自己的衝動險些釀成大禍，害人害己。經過一段時間的醫治，都已痊癒，沒留什麼後遺症。雙方都非常有風度，也沒有就此事過分糾結。事態平穩地過去了。
The two men had a good relationship with me, and they realised that their impulses had almost caused a great disaster and harm to others. Both sides were very graceful and everything went smoothly from then on.
事後很多關心我的人埋怨說：＂你為什麼迎著刀衝了上去？如果師傅一時衝動有什麼閃失的話，你的生命和健康怎麼辦？＂
Afterwards, many people who cared about me complained: 『Why did you rush up for the knife? If the chef had been impulsive, what would have happened to your life and health?』
我笑笑輕描淡寫地說：＂沒想那麼多，因為我是老闆，關鍵時刻我不上誰上？在我的店裡，任何人出事我都必須承擔法律責任。你們可以原諒和理解我，法律不能！＂
I smiled and said: 『I didn’t think so much. Because I am the boss, at the crucial moment if I hadn’t rushed up, who would do it? In my restaurant, I have to bear legal responsibility for anyone. You can forgive and understand me, but the law can’t!』

澳洲新藝術聯合會是由一群居澳華裔文學家藝術家，文學藝術愛好者組成的非盈利性社會團體，旨在為在澳華裔文學家藝術家，文學藝術愛好者提供展示與交流平臺。 澳洲新藝術聯合會使用《Model Constitution》（Under the Association Incorporation Act 2009) 作為協會章程。章程要求每個入會者必須以書面形式（包括電子郵件等電子設備）向協會秘書提出申請，提交理事會核准，繳納年度會員費（每年$20) 後登記入冊，方能成為本協會會員。會員年度會費由繳納當天直至下一年是日，到第二年截止日後三個月內必須繳納下一年度會費，否則，視為自動退會。澳洲新藝術聯合會一如既往地歡迎新老朋友加入協會。

根據協會章程，澳洲新藝術聯合會於2020年9月17日召開了會員會議，選舉和確立了新的理事會成員和協會行政管理人員，公布了協會的財務帳目，確立了新的銀行帳戶籤名人，付費會員重新登記入會，原協會會員已經有一半以上完成了重新登記入會手續，此項工作還在陸續有序地展開。
