我從09年開始看鄧羅版的《三國演義》英文版，這是第一次試圖用自己掌握的幾個軟體，將Raspe大叔演播的這個英文版做成視覺有聲書。
圖片為鄧羅的英文版封面、漢代鹿形瓦當，以及《新刊校正古本大字音釋三國志通俗演義》中王希堯的插圖。
Raspe給每一回都寫了回評，我將評語翻譯成漢語，錄了音，附在視頻最後。
在《威力導演》軟體弄丟了兩次工作文件之後，只留下了這一個獨苗兒視頻。限於時間/精力，我只好讓這個準半成品跟大家見面了。

漢朝統治了中國將近四百年，
For four hundred years, the Han have ruledin China,
而漢朝的社會政治體系，也將在其後的歲月中，
and the impact of the Han socio-politicalsystem would come to have long-ranging effects
對東亞地區的總體歷史和發展，產生深遠的影響。
on the history and development of east Asiain general throughout successive centuries.
然而，哪怕最偉大的帝國，也無法逃脫滅亡的結局。
However, even the greatest empires aredestined to fall.
《三國演義》的開篇
The novel opens up with the line
「話說天下大勢，分久必合，合久必分。」
「The World under Heaven, after a long period of division, tends tounite; after a long period of union, tends to divide. This has been so sinceantiquity.」
這第一句話，就設定了全書的舞臺。舞臺的核心，
This sets the stage for the story, which,at its core,
乃是隨著帝國的衰亡而出現的「分」，
is a story of the disunity accompanying thefall of an empire,
以及叱吒風雲的英雄們，應對「分」的能力。
and the abilities of great Heroes to dealwith that disunity.
在連綿不斷的起義，和朝廷高層的腐敗夾擊之下，
Seriously weakened by repeated rebellionsand corruption at the very highest levels of the Imperial government,
漢朝陷入了深重的危機，舉國上下，不少人看得出來，劉家天下已經奄奄一息了。

亂世的背景當中，中國北方的張姓三兄弟，舉起了推翻朝廷的大旗。

and Sun Jian, descendant of the greatstrategist, Sun Tzu, whose family gains control of the fertile lands of theSouth.
黃巾之亂，是這些大英雄接受的一次嚴峻考驗，將他們的幼稚煅燒乾淨，
The Yellow Turban Rebellion serves as acrucible for these mighty heroes, burning away their naievete,
把他們塑造成了一代梟雄，聲名遠播，
and forging them into great heroes of theland, making their names famous,
