It's crazy to me that people forget when Casey left DeMar on the bench for almost the entire 4th quarter in a must win game vs Indy in the 2016 playoffs for this exact same reason.
Casey has a lot of flaws as a coach but "riding the guys who got you there" was never one of them.
Edit: Game 3 vs the Cavs in 2018 another great example of Casey riding a bench lineup that made a comeback in a game with considerably higher stakes. This move is exactly the type of thing Casey would do in this situation.

Man I was so down at halftime, these guys stepped up big time. No Siakam, Marc or Powell and they still somehow pulled it off. I really hope this means guys like Boucher will see some more floor time, he played so well when Ibaka was down and then was tossed out of rotation but he hustled this game.

Man that was such a fun comeback to watch, the adjustments Nurse made from Full Court trap to zone was so well executed and they did that with 3 Undrafted players w/ Lowry & RHJ. Amazing. Just wish it didn’t happen against my team.
With all that said you still shouldn’t blow a 30 point lead with 14 mins to go.

It seems obvious but it's so difficult to grow and maintain that culture.
