Where have you been on this five-day holiday?
雖然今年五一旅遊的人不如去年多，
沒有人山人海的現象，
但還是會遇到需要排隊的時候。
人山人海 People mountain people sea
那麼，「排隊」用英語該怎麼表達？
也許大家會說 Wait for your turn，
但真的是這麼表達的嗎？
下面我們來扒一扒，
那些我們習以為常的中式英語，
都有哪些？
01.
請排隊等候
Wait for your turn, please.
在口語當中，歪果仁不會加介詞 for
而它的正確說法，非常簡單就是：
Wait your turn, please
這裡 wait 用作及物動詞
「等你歸來」 就是 wait your return.
If people were more polite, they would wait their turn.
假如人們更講禮貌的話，他們就會按順序等候。
How many times I got to tell you to wait your turn!
讓我跟你講多少遍，請排隊等候！
02.
某國家的首都在哪裡？
Where is the capital of ... ?
經常聽朋友們說 Where is the capital of XXX?
其實這樣的表達也是中式英語
是一種不地道的表達，外國人根本聽不懂。
因為在中文表達裡，
我們習慣問某國首都在哪裡？
而英語裡，歪果仁習慣直接說 ：
What is the capital of XXX
- What is the capital of China?
中國的首都是哪個城市？
- Beijing is the capital of China.
中國的首都是北京。
What is the capital of the state you live in?
您所在州的首府在哪裡？

我很喜歡那裡
I like there very much
一位朋友在講述他去過的城市時，
說道：I like there very much.
注意！歪果朋友可能從沒聽過 I like there 這種表達哦~
因為英語裡根本沒有這類的表達，
如果，你要說我很喜歡那裡。
正確的表達是：I liked it.
Last year I went to New York. And I liked it very much.
去年我去了趟紐約，我很喜歡那裡。
或者可以直接說喜歡某一個地方：
I really like this township, where people are friendly.
我很喜歡這個小鎮，那裡的人都很友好。
04.
愛喝濃茶
to drink thick tea
在英語中，thick 表示 「厚的、濃密的」
但是，喝濃茶真的這麼說麼？
No，abusolutely not!
歪果仁喜歡用 strong 或者 light 形容茶或者喝酒的味覺，類似中文喜歡用 「濃」或「淡」
所以，千萬別套中式思維啊~
正確說法是：to drink strong tea
My father used to drink strong tea every morning.
我爸爸以前每天早晨喝一杯濃茶。
I seldom get any sleep after I drink strong tea.
我喝過濃茶就幾乎睡不著覺。
05.
總額多少？
What is the total sum?
total 是「總共」 的意思，sum 是 「合」 的意思
Total sum = 總合？
英語口語中，可不這麼說！
一般歪果仁會說：
How much does it come to?
這個總額是怎麼來的？
That sounds reasonable. It's quite a bargain. How much does it come to altogether?
這聽起來很合理。這倒真便宜。總共多少錢？
06.
我有個問題要問你
I have a question to you
看起來這個表達很對，是不是？
但是歪果仁根本聽不懂，
正確的說法應該是：
I have a question for you.
或者一定要用 to 的話，可以說：
I have a question to ask you.

不好意思，奧尼爾博士
- I have a question to ask you.
我有個問題想請教您。
Now I have a question for you.
現在我要問你一個問題。
