九頭鳥與湖北佬

​ 湖北再次出名，因為新冠，也因為最近的洪澇。其實，即使沒有2020，江湖上也一直有湖北的傳說，「天上九頭鳥，地上湖北佬」。有些人對湖北人忌憚，也有人喜歡湖北人，不管如何，我們還是要搞清楚江湖的傳說到底是什麼涵義。

傳說，楚人以九頭鳥為圖騰，九頭鳥的傳說也來自於楚地，地理與文化結合也合情合理。山海經中評價九頭鳥說他是火神化身，因被人砍掉一頭需要不斷吸食人的靈魂來維持生命，同時九個頭也經常搶奪食物，顯得非常沒有遠見和大局觀因而也影響了人們的評價。還有一個說法，明朝萬曆年間，張居正為皇上舉薦了九個御史，這九個人恰好都是湖北籍的。他們上任之後不畏權貴，嚴厲的打擊和治理貪贓枉法之徒，取得了很好的效果。所以當時人們都覺著湖北人特別的能幹，效率非常高，自然就想到了楚地的圖騰九頭鳥。

身為地地道道的湖北人，我從不介意別人如何理解「天上九頭鳥，地上湖北佬」這句評價。因為我知道，湖北人本質是很有韌性也很堅強，並不比別人聰明，只是更多一些苦幹。年年夏天的洪水，幾年一次的洪澇災害，對魚米之鄉荊楚大地的人們來說，這是一種不可迴避的天災。田地淹了，房子沒了，只要人在就繼續建設家園。我的奶奶和我們講過，上個世紀二十年代的一次洪澇災害中，爺爺十幾歲，一家十口人，九口被洪水吞沒，唯獨剩下爺爺一人在吃不飽穿不暖的年代，成就了我們現在一個大家族，我覺得這才是真正地地道道的湖北人。下面圖片是我們自己親身經歷的幾次比較重大的洪澇災害，每一次都歷歷在目。

1991年8月6日，湖北巴東大暴雨，縣城裡洪水從樓房中傾瀉而下。

在1998年的特大洪澇中，湖北省公安縣縣城明末「公安派」的三名士塑像被淹沒...

1998年7月23日，湖北武漢遭受特大暴雨襲擊，漢口主幹道解放大道成了「街河。

2016年6月，武漢遭暴雨襲擊，全城開啟「看海」模式。

2020年7月，湖北繼新冠疫情之後又遭遇暴雨洪澇災害

質量就在我們身邊，「天上九頭鳥，地上湖北佬」，不管歷史傳說如何，現實的生活還是需要我們自己來創造。明明知道前途困難叢叢，但是我們依然毫不畏懼，依然笑對生活，這就是湖北人九頭鳥的真正品質。

We are as smart as others, and a little harder working. Summer floods happen every year, and every few years there is once flood disaster. For the people of the province, this is an inevitable natural disaster. The fields are flooded and the houses are gone, but as long as people are there, homes will continue to be built. My grandmother told us that during a flood disaster in the 1920s, when my grandfather was a teenager, nine of his ten family members were engulfed by the flood. This disaster left only my grandfather in the age of not enough to eat and not enough to wear, which made us a big family now. I think this is the real Hubei people.
