文中variety show是"雜耍"的意思。此處的"show"means a theatrical performance or a television or a radio programme which is entertaining rather than serious（演出；節目）。如上面第一句中的talk show意思是"(電視、無線電)訪問節目, 座談節目"，又如：chat show（電視臺）現場訪問節目；dumb show啞劇；手勢；quiz show智力競賽節目等等。
