CCTV.com消息(快樂學漢語):
And enjoy a happy journey
across China!
Hello there! I'm Merry Han Jia.
Hi! I'm Happy Yuanyuan.
We're saying hello to
you here
at Wuyi Mountain's famous
Nine-Bend Stream.
Eh, Han Jia,
what does the "qu" in Jiu Qu
Xi mean?
"Qu" means a bend.
This stream
flows from west to east around
the mountain,
forming nine big bends.
That's why people gave it
this name.
Actually, when we looked down at
the stream from the mountaintop
it was already beautiful enough.
To my surprise, it is more beautiful
when we see it up close.
Sitting on this bamboo raft
while enjoying the scenery
is like traveling in a picture.
Seen from this angle,
the mountain looks even taller
and the water even more transparent.
When the ancients toured
the Nine-Bend Stream,
they all sailed upstream
from the first bend all the way
up to the ninth bend.
And today we're doing just
the opposite
of what the ancients did,
traveling downstream
from the ninth bend all the way
down to the first bend.
Which bend have we reached now?
Look,
it's all written on the rock face.
The eighth bend?
Yes. Actually,
the rock inscriptions are
a significant feature of the Nine-
Bend Stream.
Many of them were written by
literati of various dynasties
when they traveled along the
Nine-Bend Stream.
That's interesting!
Yes. Look, the rock inscription
over there
is actually one of the poems
written by
Zhu Xi, a noted Confucian scholar
of the Southern Song Dynasty,
when he toured along the Nine-
Bend Stream
together with one of his friends.
Is this one of the poems?
Yes.
How many poems did he
write altogether?
Ten altogether.
The word "zonggong" we just
used is an adverb,
meaning altogether.
So "zonggong" means in all
or altogether.
The first poem of Zhu Xi's
Oaring Songs along
the Nine-Bend Stream is
only a foreword.
It functions as a summary
or introduction.
Each of the other nine poems
corresponds with the scenery
of a bend of the stream.
Later, somebody engraved
the nine poems respectively
on the rock faces of the
corresponding bends.
Wow, this is a perfect combination
of landscape and culture!
Yes indeed.
I still remember the first few lines
of the Oaring Songs.
"There are gods on Wuyi Mountain.
Each bend of the stream
here is cool and clear."
The water at different bends of
the stream is different in depth,
and flows at different speeds.
Our bamboo raft moves
forward downstream.
The scenery on the banks
also changes constantly.
I feel while we are rafting down
the Nine-Bend Stream,
time has passed so quickly.
Look, before we knew it,
we've already reached the
sixth bend.
Eh, Han Jia,
it seems we already spotted
that rock ahead of us when we
climbed Tianyou Peak, right?
Yes. That is Xianzhang Peak.
Wow, it bears
so many straight stripes on it!
They were caused by the perennial
scouring rain.
There is even a story about it.
Tell it to us quickly.
Legend has it that
the Barefoot Immortal once hung
some cloth to dry on it.
The strong sunshine was
so hot
that it melted the cloth.
The melting cloth dripped into
the rock face,
thus forming
the patterns we see today.
For this reason,
Xianzhang Peak has another name,
The Cloth-Drying Rock.
This story is actually pretty interesting.
Yuanyuan just said "daoshi".
It is an adverb.
Here it expresses
something unexpected.
So "daoshi" here is an adverb
that expresses that something is
different from what we expected.
Zhège gùshi dào shi tǐng yǒu qù de
This story is actually pretty interesting.
In fact, there are a lot of
stories of this kind at
Wuyi Mountain.
People gave free rein to
their imaginations
and gave rich connotations
to these mountain peaks
and waters here.
But there are things
that people can't understand
even today.
Oh, what are those things?
Tell me quickly and see
if I can solve them?
Huh, you sound so pompous!
I am not bragging.
There isn't anything that
can stump me!
Then tell me
how those boat-shaped coffins
were placed on to those precipices?
What did you say?
Boat-shaped coffins?
Yes. I mean the famous hanging
boat-shaped coffins at the fourth bend.
According to experts' textual research,
as early as the Neolithic Age,
humans had already started
living here.
As people then were good
at making boats,
they made boat-shaped coffins
for the dead.
Then they placed the coffins
high on rock faces.
But as for how they placed
them up there,
no one knows.
Wait a minute.
Did you mean those boat-shaped
coffins are still up there?
Yes.
They already have a history of
more than 3400 years.
And those wooden boards
at the sides
were used either to support
the coffins
or to make a plank road.
Locals call them red bridge boards.
Well,
can you tell us
how they were placed up there?
I really can't find out how.
Then why did you brag
about it?
"Dahua" is a noun,
that means big talk, boasting,
or overstatement.
So "dahua" is a noun,
that means big talk, boast,
or overstatement.
Well, let's leave these riddles
for the archeologists to solve.
And we'd better take a look
at today's Feast for the Eyes
so as to get a glimpse of the beautiful
