1 . want, need, like 這類動詞後經常要跟「to」，再加上另一個原形動詞，這就是英語中的動詞不定式結構，例如：
I want to meet Mr Kessler. 我想見凱斯勒先生。
I need to see her. 我得見她。
I like to sing. 我喜歡唱歌。
2 . Excuse me. 除了在前面學過的用來搭話或插話外，當你要走開時，也要用它，以示禮貌，只不過，語調稍有變化，用降調。
3 . Are you married? 是用來詢問對方婚姻狀況，是否結婚了?一般來說，美國人的婚姻狀況是屬於隱私範圍內的，不能輕易問，屬於此範圍的還有經濟收入、宗教信仰、女子的年齡、體重等等。英文中嫁和娶都用同一個詞，若側重行為，用動詞 marry，若側重狀態，用動詞短語 be married to。例如：She married a sailor. 她嫁給了一個船員。
