百老匯電影中心將於2011年8月4日至13日推出 「消逝的中國」——王全安導演的電影展映。王全安導演是中國第六代電影導演最具代表性的人物之一，也因為電影《白鹿原》的拍攝而備受關注。本次影展是中國大陸第一次集中、全面而系統地呈現王全安的電影作品。
網易娛樂8月2日報導 百老匯電影中心將於2011年8月4日至13日推出 「消逝的中國」——王全安導演的電影展映。王全安導演是中國第六代電影導演最具代表性的人物之一，也因為電影《白鹿原》的拍攝而備受關注。本次影展是中國大陸第一次集中、全面而系統地呈現王全安的電影作品。而在影展活動期間，主辦方將在百老匯電影中心展出王全安在柏林電影節擒獲的兩座獎盃，觀眾將有機會在觀看電影之餘，近距離接觸傳說中「金熊」和「銀熊」。
縱觀王全安的創作，處女作《月蝕》風格獨特，迥異於同時期的其它中國電影。而從《驚蟄》開始，他就把鏡頭對準了中國社會的各個階層，強烈的紀實性和高度凝練的戲劇性使得他的電影在第六代導演中顯得尤為特殊。2006年他拍攝的《圖雅的婚事》獲得第57屆柏林電影節最佳影片金熊獎。在《紡織姑娘》中，王全安繼續關注國營工廠改制背景下的個人命運，而《團圓》則以一對老人的人生，折射出兩岸團聚的宏大主題，獲得60屆柏林電影節銀熊獎。
本次影展中，所有影片放映都是中英文雙語字幕。整個活動期間，不僅會有關於王全安電影的小型展覽，王全安導演亦將親臨現場與觀眾親切交流。

策展意義：
王全安是中國第六代電影導演最具代表性的人物之一。他的電影以一種近乎紀實的方式呈現出強烈的戲劇性。同時，他的電影在關注揭示現實的過程中，呈現出一種在中國此類藝術片中十分罕見的克制，不僅使他的電影獲得很高的藝術純度，也使他的電影表達空間獲得了極大的拓展。
本次影展是內地第一次集中、全面而系統地呈現王全安的電影作品。從《月蝕》到《圖雅的婚事》再到製作中的《白鹿原》，王全安的電影一直以獨特而連貫的視角,關注並呈現了一個在劇烈變化中不斷消失的中國。對於現實話語嚴重缺失的中國電影而言，他的電影意義非常特殊。
Wang Quan』an is one of the most representative figures among the Six Generation Film Directors in China. His films express a nearly documentary approach towards the dramatic intensity in daily life. In the process of representing the daily life, Wang emphasizes on the theatricality aspect of it, but at the same time demonstrates a kind of restraint in dealing with the drama, which is rarely seen in the art-house cinema of China. This contrasting approach not only allows him to extend the spectrum of expression but also wins him the recognition of achieving high purity in art.
This retrospective is the first ever screening event to show Wang Quan』an’s films comprehensively and systematically. Wang Quan』an’s films, starting from 「Lunar Eclipse」 to 「Tuya’s Marriage」 to 「White Deer Plain」, take on a unique and coherent perspective to look at China at the point of vanishing against the drastic changing background. Given the absence of a discourse representing the reality in Chinese cinema, Wang’s cinema is of particular importance.

Lunar Eclipse is the directorial debut from Sixth Generation director Wang Quan』an. It is also the feature film debut of Wang’s most frequent collaborator Yu Nan. Unlike his next two films, which focus on rural communities, Lunar Eclipse is an urban drama following the wife of a newlywed couple (Yu Nan) who becomes mesmerized by an amateur photographer (Wu Chao) who claims to have once been in love with a woman who looks just like her. This film won the Jury Prize at 22nd Moscow International Film Festival in 2000 and also took part in the Forum unit of 50th Berlin International Film Festival.
驚蟄Jingzhe (The Story of Ermei)

這一次王全安將鏡頭聚焦在一個農村姑娘身上，以即興的拍攝手法和對生活常態的細膩捕捉，通過個體的放大，把中國西部農民生存狀態和生存境遇的現實，細膩而生動地展現在觀眾的視野中。影片入圍第54屆柏林電影節。
Jingzhe tells the story of a woman named Ermei (played by Yu Nan), in rural China struggles to find a life of her own as circumstances conspire against her. Jingzhe was screened in several international film festivals throughout 2004, including the Berlin International Film Festival on February 10, 2004, where it was part of the 「Panorama」 program.

Tuya's Marriage tells the story of a reserved Mongolian bride diagnosed with a debilitating back injury enters into an unusual agreement with her disabled husband. Tuya and her husband, who agree to divorce in the hope of finding a husband who will be prepared to look after both of them and their children. Wrenching and beautiful, Tuya's Marriage is the indelible portrait of a strong woman determined to save her family, herself and their ancient way of life. This film won Golden Bear at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival in 2007.

As Director Wang Quan』an’s fourth feature film, Weaving Girl tells a story of a woman, who was diagnosed with cancer and unable to afford treatment, decided to leave her unhappy marriage and searched for her first love in Beijing. Although it initially seems to be an indictment of working conditions in China, the film ends up showing the unpredictability of human life and how a small character struggles to survive against big odds. This film was the winner of the Special Grand Prize of the Jury and the FIPRESCI (International Film Critics) Award at the 33rd Montreal Film Festival in 2009.
團圓Apart Together

Wang Quan』an’s fifth film Apart Together is another variation of his recurrent set-up of one woman flirting with two husbands (or boyfriends), torn between obligation and love (or attraction). A former nationalist Soldier who fled mainland China in 1949 returns home to his family years later. But his wife has a new common law husband and he has never met his son before. Small in scope but tightly structured, gracefully acted and directed, this film opens up deep historical wounds and generational traumas created by China’s civil war, but does not press on them, exploring instead more universal human dilemmas lightened by scrumptious culinary episodes. As the open film at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, Apart Together won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay award.
