那麼英文泛讀有什麼作用？
《經濟學人》是由英國經濟學人集團出版的雜誌，創辦於1843年9月，創辦人詹姆士·威爾遜。 雜誌的大多數文章寫得機智，幽默，有力度，嚴肅又不失詼諧，並且注重於如何在最小的篇幅內告訴讀者最多的信息，是全球閱讀量最大的時政雜誌之一。
就拿四六級、託福、雅思、考研英語以及其他很多的英語考試來說，英文外刊往往是題源。很多報過託福雅思四六級英語補習班的同學，應該有過這樣的經歷：補習班開始，老師都會意味深長叮囑你一定要看外刊，最好能做到每三天讀一篇經濟學人雙語精讀筆記，這樣能極大提升英語能力。當然，並不是說考試中所出的題一定是原題（很多時候反而被做了很大的改動），而是去讓你漸漸地習慣外刊的敘事思路，提升英語思維的同時，積累寫作詞組和句型，提升單詞量。

Will inflation return?
Economists love to disagree, but almost all of them will tell you that inflation is dead. The premise of low inflation is baked into economic policies and financial markets. It is why central banks can cut interest rates to around zero and buy up mountains of government bonds. It explains how governments have been able to go on an epic spending and borrowing binge in order to save the economy from the ravages of the pandemic—and why rich-world public debt of 125% of gdp barely raises an eyebrow. The search for yield has propelled the s&p 500 index of shares to new highs even as the number of Americans in hospital with covid-19 has surpassed 100,000. The only way to justify such a blistering-hot stockmarket is if you expect a strong but in-flationless economic rebound in 2021 and beyond.
