隨著新冠肺炎疫情在世界各地持續蔓延，我們無比牽掛每一位北理國際學子。疫情可防可控，為幫助大家更好地了解當前世界和中國的疫情發展，了解目前北京和北理工所做的防控措施，了解權威疫情信息和科學防控知識，留學生中心將會在每周日為大家帶來過去一周的戰「疫」資訊。
As COVID-19 continues to spread across the globe, we are deeply concerned about every BIT international student. Given the epidemic situation can be containable, we, the Office of International Students, will bring you weekly updates every Sunday on the battle against COVID-19 in which each of you will get a better understanding of the epidemic development within and outside China, of the current prevention and control measures taken by the Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Institute of Technology, and of the authoritative epidemic information and scientific prevention and control knowledge.
請同學們儘量待在家中、減少外出，外出必須佩戴口罩。不聚會、不聚餐、不聚集，勤洗手、勤通風、勤鍛鍊，養成良好生活習慣，每天監測自己體溫和身體健康狀況，與輔導員老師保持溝通聯絡通暢。
It is a request to all of you that please stay home as much as possible to reduce going out. Masks must be worn whenever you are outdoors. Avoid mass gathering at this period, wash your hands with clean running water and hand sanitizer, ventilate your room frequently and exercise regularly. Please develop good health habits, and monitor your body temperature and health every day. Always stay connected for communication with your teachers.

全球疫情 Global battle against COVID-19本周，全球新冠肺炎疫情開始進入爆發期。截止北京時間3月15日18時，全球累計確診人數超過15.6萬人。除中國外，共有148個國家和地區累計確診超過7.5萬例，累計死亡超過2600例。As COVID-19 became rampant worldwide this week, the cumulative number of confirmed cases has exceeded 156,000 as of 12:00 am on March 14(Beijing time). Except for China, a total of more than 75,000 cases were confirmed in 148 countries and regions with over 2600 deaths reported.當地時間3月11日晚間，世衛組織總幹事譚德塞在日內瓦召開的新聞發布會上宣布，新冠肺炎（Covid-19）疫情已經構成全球性大流行（pandemic）。世衛組織將繼續敦促各國「監測、測試、治療、隔離、追蹤和動員人民」。
Speaking at the COVID-19 media briefing in Geneva in the evening of March 11, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: 「We have therefore made the assessment that COVID-19 can be characterized as a pandemic.」 WHO will continue to urge countries to 「detect, test, treat, isolate, trace and mobilize their people in their response」.何為大流行？根據世衛組織的定義，大流行是指「一種人們沒有免疫力的新疾病在世界範圍內超出預期地傳播」。即疾病進入了全球廣泛傳播階段，將會影響數量巨大的人群。
What is a pandemic? According to the WHO, a pandemic is "a new epidemic in which people have no immunity spreads more than expected worldwide." That is, the epidemic is occurring worldwide and crossing international boundaries and will affect a large number of people.
當地時間3月12日（北京時間13日），由國家衛生健康委和中國紅十字會組建的專家組一行9人，攜帶31噸醫療物資從上海飛抵羅馬，支援義大利新冠肺炎疫情防控工作。這是繼支援伊朗、伊拉克之後，中國派出的第三支醫療專家團隊。
On March 13 (Beijing time), a team of 9 experts selected by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China and Red Cross Society of China, along with 31 tons of medical supplies, flew from Shanghai to Rome to support the epidemic prevention and control work in Italy, which is the third medical expert team sent by China after supporting Iran and Iraq.
中國戰「疫「 China Battle Against COVID-19
本周，中國新冠肺炎疫情防控形勢呈現積極向好態勢，取得了階段性重要成果，3月12-14日武漢以外全國各地新增本土病例連續三天為0，各地生產生活秩序正加速重回軌道。湖北省內除武漢外新增確診病例已連續十天為0，武漢新增確診病例連續4天保持在個位數；21個省份連續14天以上無新增本土確診病例，6省份超過一周無新增本土確診病例，全國治癒率持續上升。而境外輸入確診病例仍在增加，截止3月14日24時中國累計報告境外輸入確診病例111例。
This week, China’s prevention and control over the COVID-19 has shown a positive trend and gained important phase achievements. From March 12th to 14th, the number of new local cases in all parts of the country outside Wuhan was zero for three consecutive days. The production and life order, therefore, is accelerating back to the normal track. The number of newly confirmed cases in Hubei Province except Wuhan has been zero for ten consecutive days. The number of newly confirmed cases in Wuhan has remained at single digit for four consecutive days. 21 provinces reported zero new local cases for more than 14 consecutive days, and 6 provinces have no new local cases for more than a week. The cure rate continues to rise nationwide, while the imported cases is increasing. By 24:00, March 14, China has reported 111 imported overseas confirmed cases.
On March 10, all 14 mobile cabin hospitals in Wuhan were closed. Since the first batch put into use on February 5, more than 12,000 patients have been treated accumulatively in the cabin hospitals in 35 days, which quickly alleviated the problem of short medical resources in Wuhan at the critical moment. More importantly, the mobile cabin hospital achieved zero infection, zero death, and zero repetition, helping Wuhan successfully reverse the battle against the COVID-19.
On March 12, Academician Zhong Nanshan's team had multi-party video connections with experts from Harvard Medical School and those from the field of American intensive care, shared intensive care experience, and discussed about future collaboration on the clinical research of COVID-19.
Recently, Academician Zhong Nanshan's team successfully developed a novel coronavirus antibody detection kit that can produce result in 15 minutes with IgM-IgG combined antibodies after testing blood, indicating that a more effective and convenient screening method will soon be available.
So far, China has sent anti-epidemic expert groups to Iran, Iraq, and Italy, and provided anti-epidemic aids such as masks, medicines, and protective clothing to Japan and South Korea. The Chinese government also donated US $ 20 million to the World Health Organization and exported urgently needed medical supplies and equipment to some countries.
北京戰「疫」Beijing battle against COVID-19
截至3月14日24時，北京累計確診病例442例（其中境外累計輸入病例27例），已治癒353例，12個區連續14天以上無新增確診病例。Update Report on COVID-19 in Beijing (by 0:00 March 15, 2020) tells that there are 442 cumulative confirmed cases (including 27 imported cases), 353 cases already recover and discharged from hospital. In 12 districts of Beijing, there are 0 newly confirmed cases for more than 14 days consecutively.
北京市對疫情嚴重國家入境人員實施閉環防控體系，在首都國際機場T3航站樓D區開闢專門區域，作為來自疫情嚴重國家的航班停靠專區，對所有乘客完成衛生檢疫、體溫篩查、信息核錄、進港中轉等流程後，分類進行分流轉送。
Beijing Municipal Government adopts close-loop prevention and control system for all people from severely-affected countries entering China. Beijing Capital International Airport divided a designated area Zone D of Terminal 3 to take flights departing from hard-hit countries. After completing process of health quarantine, body temperature checks, identity inspection, as well as arrivals & inbound transfer, passengers will be categorized for further transfer.
北京啟用位於順義區的中國國際展覽中心新館作為首都機場疫情嚴重國家入境人員的轉運集散地，由各省區市和本市各行政區分別派駐工作組，24小時做好入境人員的分流轉向工作。
From this week, China International Exhibition Centre (New Hall) located in Shunyi District starts to receive passengers from hard-hit countries as transfer centre. All working group designated by each province, city and district will redirect incoming passengers from here 24 hours every day.
3月13日起，北京大興機場的國際進港航班將全部轉到首都機場運行。
Since March 13, all international flights arriving in Beijing will land at the Capital International Airport, including those previously landing at the city's southern Daxing International Airport.
從北京時間3月16日0時起，所有境外進京人員，均轉送至集中隔離點進行14天的隔離觀察，期間隔離人員的費用自理。
From 00:00, March 16th, Beijing time, all overseas personnel entering Beijing will be transferred to a centralized isolation point for a 14-day quarantine observation, and the costs shall be borne by themselves.
本周，學校各項工作平穩有序推進，線上教學運行正常。3月11日，學校召開會議，對本年度教育教學及畢業生相關工作進行了安排部署。
BIT continues to work on epidemic prevention and control as well as all other aspects, including online course operations. On March 11, BIT held a meeting mainly focusing on arrangement of education and teaching affairs and 2020 graduation schedule.
疫情發生以來，留學生中心真情關愛著每一名國際學子。本周，中心老師分別走訪了現住校外的91名國際學生，在向學生發放口罩的同時，詳細了解他們的日常學習生活狀況和存在的困難問題，鼓勵大家保持良好心態和健康體魄，自律自學、不荒學業，期待著早日重逢在美麗的北理校園。同學們紛紛表示，感謝中國政府採取了堅決有力的防控措施，自己在北京是十分安全的；感謝北理工和各位老師的關心關愛，自己一定會珍惜美好時光，確保自己的學業課程順利進行。5天時間，累計行程500餘公裡，通過一場特殊形式的「家訪」，將北理工的濃濃關愛之情送至每一名學生心中。
Since the outbreak, Office of International Students cares wholeheartedly about all BIT international students both in and outside of China. Last week, on behalf of BIT and the Office, the teachers paid visit to 91 international students residing off campus in Beijing, provide face masks to them, and get to know more details about their current life and challenges they are facing. In order to keep a healthier life both mentally and physically, the Office advised all students to focus more on study, and do some fitness every day. The students express their great gratitude to the Chinese Government for their resolute and forceful measures taken for the epidemic prevention and control, so that they feel very much assured that they may stay healthy and safe in Beijing. Also they want to thank BIT and Office of International Students for their hard work and caring all the way.
