Chinese President Xi Jinping announced the opening of the second China International Import Expo on Tuesday.
11月5日，中國國家主席習近平宣布第二屆中國國際進口博覽會開幕。
Xi extended warm welcome to all guests. In a keynote speech delivered at the opening ceremony, Xi said he believes that all friends could come with pleasure and return with satisfaction.
習近平對各位嘉賓表示熱烈歡迎。在開幕式的主旨演講中，習近平表示，相信各位朋友都能乘興而來、滿意而歸！
China has made major progress in expanding import to promote consumption and cutting tariffs as part of the country's efforts to further open up its market, Xi said.
習近平說，為進一步擴大中國市場開放，中國在擴大進口促進消費、進一步降低關稅等取得重大進展。
Xi pledged that China will adopt five measures to promote higher-level opening up:

A total of 155 countries and regions as well as 26 international organizations are attending the second China International Import Expo, which is held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10.
第二屆進博會於11月5日-10日在上海舉辦，共有155個國家和地區、26個國際組織參加。
The exhibition area covers around 360,000 square meters. Sixty-four countries will host country exhibitions and 3,893 companies are attending the business exhibitions, Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua said at the opening ceremony Tuesday.
國務院副總理胡春華在5日的開幕式上表示，本次進博會展出面積達到36萬平方米，64個國家參加國家展，3893家企業參加企業展。

China has officially launched research and development work for 6G mobile networks.

The announcement by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Wednesday that China was kicking off research into 6G came a few days after the rollout of 5G commercial services in China, the world's largest internet market.
11月6日，科技部宣布，中國啟動6G研究。幾天前，全球最大的網際網路市場——中國推出了5G商用服務。
The ministry, together with several government departments, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, held a meeting in Beijing on Sunday to start research on 6G technology, according to a statement posted on its website.

Two teams were announced: one consisting of relevant government bodies and the other made up of 37 experts from universities, scientific research institutes and companies.

All 39 bodies found in a refrigerated truck outside London last month have now been identified as citizens of Vietnam, British police and Vietnamese officials said on Thursday.

The Vietnamese embassy in London said it was "in deep sorrow" over the confirmation that the 31 men and eight women discovered dead in the back of a truck on October 23 were from the southeast Asian country.

A Chinese pilot has been grounded for life after a photo of a woman sitting in an airplane cockpit emerged on social media, sparking outrage over a breach of safety rules.
近日，一名女子坐在飛機駕駛艙的照片在社交媒體上傳播，這種違反交通安全的行為引起群憤，一名中國飛行員因此被處以終身停飛。
The photo, posted by the woman on Weibo social network, showed her taking the pilot's seat and making a V-sign while wearing civilian clothes.
該照片由這名女子上傳到社交媒體新浪微博，照片中她身著便服坐在機長位，擺著「V」型手勢。
"[I am] super thankful to the pilot! I am really so excited," the caption read.

The photo was spotted by a Chinese aviation blogger on Sunday. The blogger identified that the image was taken on an Air Guilin plane mid-flight, and criticized the airline for disregarding flight safety. The woman has since deleted the original photo on her Weibo account.

Air Guilin confirmed that the incident took place during a flight from Guilin to Yangzhou on January 4.

The latest document also said that eight senior executives had been subject to disciplinary action. These included Yue Ding, the general manager in charge of flight operations, who was removed from his post, and Xu Xin, chairman of the airline, who was given a 「serious warning」.

Chinese ride-hailing giant Didi Chuxing on Wednesday announced it will relaunch its hitchhiking service with added safety features, a year after the company suspended the service following two murders of female passengers.

The company said it will bring back the hitchhiking service in seven major Chinese cities at the end of November.

Didi said the trial, which will run in cities including Beijing and Harbin in Heilongjiang province, will start with trips under 50 kilometers in metro areas between 5 am and 8 pm for female users. Male users will be able to use the service from 5 am to 11 pm.
滴滴稱，順風車服務將在北京、哈爾濱等城市試運營。試運營期間，將首先提供5時至23時（女性5時至20時）、市內中短途（50公裡以內）的順風車平臺服務。
The relaunch is only a trial in limited regions, and that the hitchhiking service will continue to improve in line with feedback from the public.
