My name is Kim Nam-joon, also known as RM, the leader of the group BTS.
我的名字是金南俊，也以RM為人所知，我是防彈少年團的隊長
It is an incredible honor to be invited to an occasion
能受邀來到這個對年輕一代具有重要意義的場合
with such significance for today's young generation.

Last November, BTS launched the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF,
17年11月我們與聯合國兒童基金會合作開展了「愛自己」的活動
built on our belief that true love first begins with loving myself.
建立於我們相信真正的愛是從愛自己開始的信念
We've been partnering with UNICEF's End Violence program
我們參與了聯合國兒童基金會的反暴力活動
to protect children and young people all over the world from violence.
保護世界各地的兒童和年輕人不再受到暴力的侵害
And our fans have become a major part of this campaign with their action and with their enthusiasm.
我們的粉絲 以實際熱誠和行動成為了這個活動的重要組成部分
We truly have the best fans in the world.

And I'd like to begin by talking about myself.
接下來，我想談談我自己
I was born in Ilsan, a city near Seoul, South Korea.
我出生在韓國日山，一個很靠近首爾的美麗城市
It is a really beautiful place with a lake, hills, and even an annual flower festival.
那裡真的是個很美的地方，有湖泊、山丘，一年四季都有鮮花盛放
I spent a very happy childhood there, and I was just an ordinary boy.
我在那裡度過了非常快樂的童年，那時候我還只是個普通的男孩
I used to look up at the night sky and wonder, and I used to dream the dreams of a boy.
我總喜歡望著星空遐想，做著男孩子都會有的夢
I used to imagine that I was a superhero who could save the world.
我曾經夢想 自己是個能拯救世界的超級英雄
In an intro to one of our early albums, there's a line that says,
在我們早期的專輯中有一首歌叫intro，裡面有句歌詞寫道
"My heart stopped when I was maybe nine or ten."
大約在我9或10歲的時候，我的心臟就停止了跳動
Looking back, I think that's when I began to worry about
回首過去，大概就在那個時候，我開始
what other people thought of me and started seeing myself through their eyes.
在意其他人如何看待我，開始從別人的眼中審視自己
I stopped looking up at the night skies, the stars. I stopped daydreaming.
我不再仰望夜空和星星，不再做白日夢
Instead, I just tried to jam myself into the molds that other people made.
相反，我把自己困在了別人給我塑造的形象中
Soon, I began to shut out my own voice and started to listen to the voices of others.
不久之後，我開始制止自己的心聲，轉而聽從別人的話
No one called out my name, and neither did I.
沒有人呼喚我的名字，就連我自己也是如此
My heart stopped, and my eyes closed shut.
我的心臟不再跳動，我的雙眼緊閉
So, like this, I, we, all lost our names. We became like ghosts.
就像這樣，我 我們 都失去了自己的名字，變得像遊魂一樣
But I had one sensory, and that was music.
但還好我還有一個最後的港灣，我那就是音樂
There was a small voice inside of me that said, "Wake up, man, and listen to yourself."
有個微小的聲音在我心裡說：醒醒吧！聽聽你自己的聲音！
But it took me a long time to hear music calling my real name.
但這仍然花了我很長一段時間，才在音樂中找回了真正的自我
Even after making the decision to join BTS, there were a lot of hurdles.
即使在加入了防彈少年團之後，我的前方依然有很多障礙
Some people might not believe, but most people thought we were hopeless.
現在你們可能不會相信，但當時大多數人都覺得我們毫無希望
And sometimes I just wanted to quit.
甚至在有些時候 我一度想過要放棄、退出
But I think I was very lucky that I didn't give it all up.
幸運的是，我最終還是沒有選擇完全放棄
And I'm sure that I, and we, will keep stumbling and falling like this.
我確信，我 我們 會一直這樣跌跌撞撞地前行
BTS has become artists performing in those huge stadiums
雖然防彈少年團已經成為能在那些超大型場館表演
and selling millions of albums right now,
能賣出數百萬張專輯的藝人了
but I am still an ordinary 24-year-old guy.
但我依然只是一個普通的24歲的男人
If there's anything that I achieved,
如果我有幸達成了什麼成就
it was only possible that I have my other BTS members right by my side
那僅僅是因為我有BTS成員們的陪伴
and because of the love and support that our ARMY fans all over the world make for us.
和來自世界各地A.R.M.Y粉絲們給予我們的愛與支持
And maybe I made a mistake yesterday, but yesterday's me is still me.
昨天的我也許犯了個錯誤，但昨天的我依然是我
Today, I am who I am with all of my faults and my mistakes.
今天的我，是背負著所有的錯誤和過失的我
Tomorrow, I might be a tiny bit wiser, and that'll be me, too.
這些過錯讓明天的我變得更有智慧了一些，而那還是我
These faults and mistakes are what I am,
這些錯誤和過失成為我生命中的一部分
making up the brightest stars in the constellation of my life.
組成了我生命星座中最閃耀的群星
I have come to love myself for who I am, for who I was, and for who I hope to become.
它們讓我學會去愛真實的自己，無論是過去、現在還是將來
I'd like to say one last thing.
我要說最後一件事
After releasing our 「Love Yourself」 albums and launching the 「Love Myself」 campaign,

we started to hear remarkable stories from our fans all over the world,

how our message helped them overcome their hardships in life and start loving themselves.

Those stories constantly remind us of our responsibility.

I am an idol, and I am an artist from a small town in Korea.
我是一個偶像，是一個出生在韓國小鎮的藝人
Like most people, I've made many and plenty mistakes in my life.
跟大部分的人一樣，我在人生中已經犯下了很多的錯誤
I have many faults, and I have many more fears,
我有過很多過錯，我也有很多恐慌
but I'm going to embrace myself as hard as I can,
但我要嘗試儘可能地接受我自己
and I'm starting to love myself gradually, just little by little.
我開始慢慢地嘗試愛我自己，一點一點地增多
