英特爾科展 臺灣學生大放異彩
thce world's largest pre-college science competition that concluded recently. This competition is held for students in grades nine through 12 to showcase their independent research. The winning projects covered a wide range of fields including chemistry, animal science, electrical and mechanical engineering, physics and astronomy, medicine and health sciences, and mathematical sciences.
"The excellent performance is due to the students' hard work," said National Taiwan Science Education Center Director Chu Nan-shyan, the leader of the Taiwanese delegation. A total of nine students from Taiwan took part in this year's competition, in which over 1,600 young scientists worldwide were vying for more than 600 individual and team awards.
臺灣學生在最近結束的 2010 年英特爾國際科學展覽競賽中，贏得 7 個獎項，該比賽是全球規模最大的中學生科學競賽，舉辦的目的是為了讓 9 到 12 年級的學生可以展現自己的獨立研究。臺灣學生得獎的領域十分廣泛，橫跨化學、動物學、電機工程、物理與天文學、醫學與健康科學，以及數學等領域。
身為臺灣代表團領隊的臺灣科學教育館館長朱楠賢說：『學生優異的表現是努力得來的成果。』臺灣有 9 名學生參加今年的競賽，總計有 1,600 多名來自世界各地的青少年科學家，前來角逐 600 多項個人與團體獎項。
For Your Information臺灣學生今年奪得 7 項大獎，得獎率為 87.5％，超過世界平均的 30％，居各國之冠，不過沒人拿到特別獎（各學科都有數個一等獎，其中最優秀者獲頒特別獎）。去年臺灣在該競賽中拿下 11 個獎項，其中年僅 16 歲的曾依晴以『麵包蟲』包辦 5 個獎項，創下難跨越的『依晴障礙』。本次參展成績最佳的則為北一女中高三學生洪瑀、林季潔，兩人以『鐵硒超導奈米顆粒製程及物性分析』拿下化學科一等獎。
