Drifting car rear ends pickup truck in east China city
A car drifting out of its lane rear ended a pickup truck on a cross-sea bridge in east China's Zhejiang Province on Tuesday, causing both vehicles to spin out of control and ejecting the truck's driver while still in his seat.
The accident took place at around 15:00 when the pickup truck, which was driving at a normal speed in the right lane of the Hangzhou Bay Bridge, was suddenly hit by a BMW from behind.
The truck then lost control and hit the bridge's guardrail, throwing the driver and his seat out of the vehicle.
"I was suddenly thrown out! I was driving normally on the road when my vehicle suddenly jumped up and I was thrown out," said the pickup truck driver.
The head and tail of the truck was bent out of shape, while the right front of the BMW was severely damaged.
According to the driver of the BMW, he was driving in the middle lane, but due to carelessness, his car gradually drifted into the right lane, leaving him no time to avoid the collision with the pickup truck.
The pickup truck driver was slightly injured and rushed to the nearby hospital.
