Year 5's Highlights
From storytelling and science, to music and cooking, Year 5's virtual school experience has seen students get creative in many different subjects.
Year 12 PE students had an online session with Team GB Snow Sport Coach, Ross Hill, to talk about preparing athletes for events, such as the Winter Olympics, X-Games and World Cup.
Congratulations to Kaz and George (Year 7), who have won BSG's 'Recycle-Reuse' competition! They managed to turn old clothes or bags into something new to wear, with fantastic results — all in support of the UN's Global Goals.
Congratulations to Harriet (Year 8), who has won the Global Campus Visual Arts Competition for BSG.
Harriet's sculpture will be put forward for Nord Anglia's shortlist, with winners being displayed at the United Nation's (UN) political forum in New York.
"This piece represents multiple [global] goals, and they are showcased throughout different parts of the sculpture.
The tree is similar to a tree from my childhood, where the children would meet and play. Everyone would be included and friends were made, even if for only brief moments in time. We would share games and memories.
It was an innocent place full of laughter and hope; unaware and free. We learnt of other's cultures and beliefs and shared ours with the children around us. My piece represents the goals through what it means and how it shows a fragment in time of peace and childhood." Harriet, Year 8
We sat down to chat with Shane Leaning, our Assistant Head of Primary and Nord Anglia Teaching Fellow of EAL, to discuss SEALS (Specialist English as an Additional Language Support) at BSG.
