在半個月前發表《Facebook如何將硬碟性能損失由90%降低到2%》時,我曾承諾大家將在網盤上分享OCPU.S. Summit 2018大會資料,如今官網的pdf文檔斷斷續續放出來,總算是基本齊全了。

下面我還會將各個分會場的主題列錶轉帖過來,並從其中提取關鍵詞和截圖精選,以供讀者朋友初步了解會議全貌。在這之前先吐點別的槽:)

 

一些「題外話」

 

記得早年曾有人稱「IDF」為電腦硬體發展的風向標,那時候Intel開發者論壇還沒有改名為後來的「信息技術峰會」。如今IDF不搞了,數據中心領域Facebook的OCP和國內的ODCC/天蠍則開始紅火起來。

 

伴隨著大型網際網路公司的規模發展,在自主設計上的話語權增加,對傳統伺服器OEM廠商不算是好消息。有人可能看到HP退出微軟數據中心項目,就是因為利潤問題;無獨有偶,國內百度的天蠍整機架最後基本上就剩一家OEM陪著玩,也是價格低到了別人都不願做的地步。

 

如果在甲方眼裡,乙方的產品都是同質化的,那樣OEM要想接著做生意就只能淪為ODM的模式。傳統伺服器大廠顯然不願徹底淪為像Foxconn、廣達等那樣的角色。好在還有廣大的傳統行業客戶,BAT也沒有「一統天下」,許多網際網路公司對硬體的把控能力還沒有那麼強,這時伺服器品牌之間的差異在運維中就能體現出來了。

 

我還發現,本次OCP的議題中網絡內容所佔的比例明顯增大。除了硬體上的差別,SDN、NFV等更多價值是在軟體上,做高附加值產品的公司會過得舒服些吧,搞底層硬體的,只要容易被別人模仿/抄襲的就苦逼一些了。

    新快報訊 記者羅瓊報導 由國際數據集團(IDG 資本)主辦的小蠻腰科技大會,目前正在廣州四季酒店舉 行,富士康集團創始人郭臺銘受邀演講。在談到大數據應用的時候,郭臺銘打趣道:" 以後我的女兒要嫁人,我不看八字,但是要看男方的大數據,看他的健康雲跟我女兒是否匹配。"       " 我有兩個女兒,一個兩歲,一個八歲。" 郭臺銘說,他從兩個女兒出生起就為她們積累大數據,並儲存了胎盤和臍帶血。" 我請了三個護理長來照顧兩個女兒,她們從出生起,打了什麼針,吃了什麼東西 ,都會有記錄。"
