On the afternoon of October 20, International Education College held the 「International Freshman Meeting (Autumn) 2017」 at Classroom G103. Lei Haixin, Assistant Dean, Luo Ying, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Song Bo, Assistant Dean, part of teacher representatives and all international freshmen of 2017 of the College of International Education attended the meeting. Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Luo Ying presided over the meeting.
At the meeting, Assistant Dean Lei Haixin made a keynote speech, briefly introducing the basic situations of DMU and the college from the aspects of department setup, teaching condition, faculty team and talent cultivation. He hoped the new international students could adapt to the life in China as soon as possible, know Chinese laws and regulations as well as the rules and regulations of DMU, focus on specialty study and try to cultivate themselves into an ambitious, noble-hearted and enterprising medical person. Assistant Dean Song Bo introduced in detail the situations of undergraduate and graduate education and DMU’s rules on student status management to the new students so as to make them more clearly know their future learning tasks and encouraged the international students to try their best to study Chinese language and Chinese culture. New student Indian Fariya made a speech on behalf of all freshmen. She shared what she had seen and heard since entering DMU, expressed her gratitude to DMU and the teachers and hoped that her classmates would make great effort to become international medical persons with solid foundation and exquisite skills. At last, she led all international freshmen to take an oath as medical college students.
International Education Collegehas a total of 159 new international students of 2017, including doctoral students, graduates, all-in-English self-supporting undergraduates, and teaching-in-Chinese undergraduates. This freshman meeting is one of the orientation series activities of the College of International Education for the new international students in the autumn of 2017. According to the new student education work arrangement, the college will organize to conduct adaptability education, safety knowledge training, mental health education, understanding of Chinese laws and regulations and DMU’s rules and regulations and other series activities for the new international students.
