The Summer Universiade is an international sporting and cultural festival which is staged every two years in a different city. The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

2017 Universiade - Event CategoriesThe 2017 Universiade program consists of 22 sports, including14 compulsory events, 7 optional events and 1 demonstration event.
Date & Place:
The wushu competition of the XXIX Summer Universiade will take place between August 21st and 29th 2017 in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei.
Venue:
1. Competition Venue: Hsinchu County Stadium.
2. Training Venue: University of Taipei, Tianmu Campus, Hsih-Hsin Hall 5F.

Wushu Competition - Participation1. Each participating country/region may at most submit one (1) team.
2. Each participating country’s/region's team is limited to a total of twelve (12) people which comprises of the following:
• One (1) team leader
• Two (2) coaches (1 taolu coach only; 1 sanda coach only)
• One (1) doctor
• Four (4) taolu athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per medalling taolu event)
• Four (4) sanda athletes (maximum one (1) athlete per weight division, with a limit of three (3) male sanda athletes in total).
• Each participating country’s team is limited to a total of twelve (12) people.
3. All participating athletes may not have been out of university or an equivalent institution for more than a year, and must be between the ages of 17 (including 17 years of age) and 28 (including 28 years of age) as of the 1st of January 2017.
Wushu Competition - EntriesEntries will be submitted through the each countries national university sports federation in collaboration with the respective national wushu federation. Details regarding this will be circulated in due course.
