Oscar Munoz
CEO, United Airlines
Dear Mr. Munoz,
We are a group of Chinese American physicians who are practicing medicine in the United States of America.
This letter is being sent to you in response to the incident that occurred on United Airlines 3411 (Chicago to Louisville) on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Based on available media reports, we are deeply concerned and utterly disturbed by the way in which the case was handled. An innocent passenger was grossly and disgracefully mistreated and injured as he was simply trying to get back home to handle medical duties the next morning. The incident has created an outcry in our medical community and has certainly had a very negative impact on the image of your company.
The way in which United Airlines mistreated this physician was totally unacceptable. Is it too much to expect respect and dignity from you and your airline company? We can only disagree with your unconscionable action and urge you to provide a sincere apology to both the passenger himself and our community at large.
We request that there will be a timely and thorough investigation of all that has occurred and that necessary steps will be taken to address our concerns. We trust that appropriate and effective procedures will be implemented to ensure a positive experience for all future passengers of United Airlines.
You may reach out to us at info@anacp.org.
Yours truly,
Alliance of North American Chinese Physicians
