Morgan Freeman's lawyer demanded Tuesday that CNN retract a story accusing the 80-year-old movie star of multiple cases of sexual harassment.

弗裡曼的律師羅伯特•施瓦茨在一份聲明中表示：「我們給CNN提供了客觀證據，包括所謂的『受害人』否認性騷擾的錄像帶和公開表述，報導中提到的內容從未發生過。」
"We presented CNN with objective evidence, including videotapes and on-the-record denials by the claimed 'victims,' that the alleged incident that gave rise to the story never happened," lawyer Robert Schwartz said in a statement.
在給CNN的一封信中，律師控訴CNN「內容惡意、虛假、使用障眼法、缺少編輯管控、在新聞領域玩忽職守。」在隨後的聲明中，施瓦茨表示：「我們已經向CNN證明，毫無疑問，整個故事都是假的。」
In a letter sent to the television news network, the lawyer accused CNN of "malicious intent, falsehoods, sleight-of-hand, an absence of editorial control and journalistic malpractice." Schwartz said in a later statement that "we proved to CNN, beyond any doubt, that the whole story was built on fakery. "

Sixteen people – eight of whom say they were victims – last week described to CNN a range of troubling behavior by Freeman on production sets or promotional tours.

其中一位名叫Chlie Melas的CNN記者也講述了她遭遇弗利曼性騷擾的經歷，當時她懷有6個月的身孕。
One of the journalists behind the CNN report, Chloe Melas, said her own encounter with Freeman when she was six-months pregnant.
Melas表示，在2017年電影《三個老槍手》的新聞發布會上，弗裡曼上下打量她，然後說：「孩子，真希望我在裡面」。
She said that during a press conference for the 2017 movie "Going in Style," Freeman looked her up and down and said, "Boy, I wish I was in there."

在Melas出示的視頻證據中，確實能聽到弗裡曼的這番言論，不過律師施瓦茨卻表示，這句話壓根不是對Melas說的。
施瓦茨表示，弗裡曼這是在回應當時在場的麥可•凱恩講的故事，凱恩說曾經有一次恭喜一名女性懷孕，但發現她根本沒懷，所以凱恩相當尷尬。弗裡曼的意思是希望自己當時在場，就能看到凱恩出醜。
Schwartz says that a video of that interview, conducted with Freeman's co-stars, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin, "makes clear" that Freeman was, in fact, responding to an embarrassing story in which he complimented a woman on her pregnancy only for her to awkwardly tell him she wasn't expecting.

施瓦茨還表示，在8位女性中的2人，Tyra Martin和Lori McCreary並不承認她們遭到了騷擾，並補充道「CNN報導後，Martin兩次公開（向WGN和TMZ兩個媒體）表示，CNN曲解了她的表述。」
Schwartz notes that two of the eight women, Tyra Martin and Lori McCreary, had denied they'd been harassed, adding that "Martin has gone on record twice (to WGN and TMZ) since CNN published the article to state that CNN misrepresented what she said."
在收到聲明後，CNN方面也表達了自己的立場：弗裡曼先生的律師提出的指控毫無根據，我們對此感到失望。這一控訴也難以和弗裡曼先生在事件後的公開聲明達成一致。CNN將堅持自身報導，並且將有力回擊弗裡曼及其代表對其報導這一重大公共事件時發出的恐嚇。
CNN responded to the letter Tuesday afternoon in a statement to USA TODAY: "The unfounded accusations made by Mr. Freeman’s lawyer are disappointing and are difficult to reconcile with Mr. Freeman’s own public statements in the aftermath of the story. CNN stands by its reporting and will respond forcefully to any attempt by Mr. Freeman or his representatives to intimidate us from covering this important public issue."
目前有關弗裡曼性騷擾事件還在進一步發酵中，吃瓜群眾表示將進一步跟進。不過有一點可以肯定的是，現在的新聞，沒有辣麼一兩次的反轉，都不叫新聞了……
