Thirty years ago, in the fall of 1982, he appeared in stores a essential disk, entitled extraordinarily evocative: The Days of Wine and Roses. It was the debut of a band called Dream Syndicate, and was the first chapter of a short novel called Paisley Underground. The term "Paisley Underground" refers to a set of band, active in Los Angeles in the early eighties, devoted to a recovery and re-enactment of the psychedelic sound of the sixties. It is not simply just bring back the clock: the punk was not passed in vain, but he left an indelible mark on an instrumental approach that stands out for incisiveness and lack of frills. The purpose of this article, therefore, is to provide a quick overview of formations and records most significant of this short season, which chronologically to sum up the history of Paisley, you can take as a starting point the period from 1982 (year the first release of Dream Syndicate "The days of wine and roses") to 1987 (year of release of "Happy Nightmare Baby" Opal). It is in these five years, in fact, that the bands the scene Paisley make their debut, grow and eventually exhaust their course, due to splits and dissolutions, or even for evolution of sound that moves away from psychedelia, often landing to a rock more linked to the roots American of folk and of country. Everything was different. Not necessarily better. Just different.
