觀音山石觀音寺簡介
觀音山石觀音寺位於武漢市黃陂區,始建於唐天啟年間(887年前後),距今有逾千年之歷史,為荊楚聖地絕無僅有之金剛道場。2008年恢復重建,立「禪教等持,行歸臨濟」宗旨,護國佑民,弘揚法化。觀音山石觀音寺自唐代建始,即以觀音信仰為一寺法緣,是以觀音文化著稱於中原九省的著名「觀音道場」,觀音靈感,稱譽諸方,朝野僧信,遞相朝供。石觀音寺傳承漢語系佛教「一花五葉」禪宗法脈,承載著諸方善信振興華夏道統的厚望,擔負著一方鄉土人文建設、社會和諧、佛法光揚的重要使命 。道場定慧相資,福慧相融,六和相貫,香光莊嚴,愛國愛教,利樂十方,以佛陀住世的深廣自信,熱情迎接廣大人民群眾和十方僧俗的巡禮與參學,攜同互進,成佛菩提!
A Brief Introduction to Stone Avalokitesvara Temple of Avalokitesvara Mountain
Stone Avalokitesvara Temple of Avalokitesvara Mountain is located in Huangpi,Wuhan. First built in c. 887 AD in Tang Dynasty, more than one thousand years ago, the Temple is the only Buddhist adamantine center of Hubei. In 2008, Buddhists restored and reconstructed the temple,established its school ethos of 「equally hold Chan crnd teachings, accord practice with Lingji Sect,」 and to support the country, bless the people, and carry forward the Dharma. Since its first establishment in Tong Dynasty, Stone Avalokitesvara Temple has adopted the belief in Avalokitesvara as its affinity of the Dharma and become the renowned 「Avalokitesvara center」 famous for its Avalokitesvara culture in the nine provinces of the central plains in China. Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is widely praised for being efficacious in relieving the suffering beings, and the government and the people as well as the sangha and the lay Buddhists have successively made offerings to the Temple. Stone Avalokitesvara Temple has received and transmitted the Dharma lineage of 「five petals of one flower」 of Chan School in Chinese Buddhism; it is also entrusted with the great expectation of rejuvenating the Chinese tradition by Buddhist believers from various sides,and it shoulders the significant mission of constructing humanism, achieving social harmony and carrying forward and developing the Dharma on its native land. Supported by both Samadhi and wisdom, uniting both merits and wisdom, carrying out the six ways of harmony,interpenetrated and glorified by Buddha-fragrance and -light, loving both our country and Buddhism, bringing benefit and joy to sentient beings of the ten directions, and with the profound and comprehensive self- confidence that the Buddha is still living in the world, the Temple warmly welcomes the visits of the people as well as of the sangha and lay Buddhists to practice and study Chan here, to together make progress in the way of Bodhi and to achieve Buddhohood!
