比較級的特殊用法
1. 與more有關的詞組
(1) the more…the more… 越……越……The harder you work，the greater progress you'll make.(2) more B than A=less A than B 與其說A不如說BHe is more lazy than slow at his work. = He is less slow than lazy at his work.(3) no more… than… 僅僅是，與……一樣The officials could see no more than the Emperor.(4) no less… than… 與……一樣……He is no less diligent than you.(5) more than 不僅僅She is more than kind to us all.
2.與less有關的詞組(1) less than 不到…In less than a week, the MS was ready.(2) no less than 不少於He won no less than $5oo.No less than 2 million people came.(3) more or less 大體上The work is more or less finished.The answers were more or less right.
3. as+adj./adv.原級+as
(1) 在否定句或疑問句中可用so… as…He cannot run so/as fast as you.(2) as +形容詞+ a +單數名詞/ as + many/much +名詞This is as good an example as the other is.I can carry as much paper as you can.(3) 表示倍數的詞或其他程度副詞做修飾語時，放as前This room is twice as big as that one.Your room is the same size as mine.(4) 倍數+ as + adj. + as = 倍數+ the … + ofThis bridge is three times as long as that one.=This bridge is three times the length of that one.Your room is twice as large as mine.=Your room is twice the size of mine.
最高級的用法
1.the+最高級+比較範圍
(1) 形容詞最高級前通常用「the」The Sahara is the biggest desert in the world.(2) 形容詞most前面沒有the，不表示最高級的含義，只表示"非常"It is a most important problem. =It is a very important problem.注意：使用最高級要注意將主語包括在比較範圍內。(錯)Tom is the tallest of his three brothers.(對)Tom is the tallest of the three brothers.(3) 這些詞修飾最高級：by far, far, much, mostly, almostThis hat is nearly / almost the biggest.注意：very可修飾最高級，但位置與much不同This is the very best. = This is much the best.序數詞通常只修飾最高級Africa is the second largest continent.
2.用比較級表示最高級的
Mike is the most intelligent in his class.=Mike is more intelligent than any other student in his class.
3. 「否定詞語」+比較級，「否定詞語+so...as」結構表達最高級含義Nothing is so easy as this.=Nothing is easier than this.=This is the easiest thing.
重點句型歸納
句型一：形容詞或副詞比較級+than…注意事項：該句型為比較級的最基本句型。只要看到than，即可確定前面使用比較級。He is taller than I am.他比我高。The boy does his homework more carefully than the girl.這個男孩做作業比這個男孩認真。
句型二：less + 形容詞的原級 + than注意事項：該句型表示「不如、不及」，特別需要注意的是，less本身就是little的比較級，後面必須跟形容詞的原級，否定就造成了比較級的重複使用。This computer is less expensive than that one.這臺電腦比那臺便宜。
句型三：as +形容詞或副詞的原級+ as注意事項：該句型表示對比的兩者程度相當，as之間必須跟形容詞或副詞的原級，決不能使用比較級。此外，還要確定使用形容詞還是副詞。確定的依據就是根據第一個as前的動詞，如果是系動詞(如be，感官動詞look, sound, smell, taste, feel等)，那麼就用形容詞的原級，如果前面的動詞是一般的實義動詞，那麼就必須用副詞的原級修飾動詞。This lesson is as easy asthat one.這節課和那節課一樣容易。Lucy talks with old people as politely as her sister.露西和老人交談和與他妹妹交談一樣禮貌。特別提醒：as…as之間也可以跟名詞，句型如下：as +形容詞+ a/an +單數名詞+asHe is askind a person as his father.他和他爸爸一樣都是善良的人。as + many/much+不可數名詞/可數名詞複數+asI cancarry as much paper as you can.你能搬多少紙，我也能。I haveas many books as you do.我的書和你的一樣多。We』ll give you as much help as we can.我們將盡我們所能給你幫助。其它幾個關於as…as的句型：as … as one can：盡其所能He began to run as fast as he could.他盡其所能跑得快。as … as possible：儘可能Pleasehelp us as quickly as possible.請儘可能地幫助我們。as soon as…一……就……He will callme as soon as he comes here.他一來這兒就會給我打電話。
句型四：not as/so +形容詞或副詞的原級+ as注意事項：該句型表示「前者不如後者……」，往往可以與句型一和句型二替換。第一個as可以換為so。This classroom is not asbright as yours.這個教室沒有你們的明亮。I cannot run as fast asyou.我跑步不如你快。
句型五：the +形容詞或副詞最高級+ in / of / among +比較範圍注意事項：如果這裡為副詞最高級，前面的the常常省略。介詞in和of的用法完全不一樣。in表示「在某一範圍內」，如：in the classroom，in the world。of表示「在同類之間」，of後面的詞與主語同類，另名詞前一般有冠詞the。among表示「在(三者或三者以上)之間」，among後接代詞或沒有修飾語的名詞。The Yangtze River(The Changjiang River) is the longest river in our country.長江是我們國家中最長的河流。Peter is the tallest of thesix students.皮特是六個學生中最高的一個。This picture is the mostbeautiful among these.在這些畫中，這張畫是最美的。
