還沒到六月，這個夏天才剛剛開始就給人們來了個下馬威，每天30多度的高溫讓「熱」這個字兒幾乎成了大家的口頭禪，開始集體懷念曾經「滿30減15」的氣溫。重點是，這只是開篇，更熱的天氣還在來的路上……
那麼天氣熱，除了說hot，還能怎麼吐槽呢？
不同類型的「熱」
muggy悶熱I can't stand this muggy day.
我受不了這麼悶熱的天氣。
scorcher大熱天Let's cancel the appointment this evening; it's a scorcher outside!
我們取消晚上的約會吧，外面太熱了。
sweltering熱得難受We were sweltering at the beach.
我們在沙灘上熱得難受。
torrid曬熱的It's torrid outside.
外面曬死了
humid潮熱Visitors can expect hot and humid conditions.
遊客會遇到炎熱潮溼的天氣狀況。
程度更高的「熱」
我們會說快被曬化了、被太陽烤熟了，歪果仁在表達熱的時候也會誇張一點。
blazing酷熱的（想像被火焰烤著的那種熱）We quickly grew tired in the blazing sunshine.
在灼熱的日光下我們很快就累了。
boiling熾熱（和沸騰的開水聯繫起來）We felt sluggish on such a boiling hot day and could only slop around.
在如此酷熱的天氣下，我們動也不想動，只能懶洋洋地走。
blistering酷熱的（想像腳踩在被曬了一中午的柏油路上那種能被燙出水泡的熱）Families were made to wait in the blistering midday sun for hours.
幾家人被迫在正午熾熱的陽光下等了幾個小時。
「熱」的其它表達
表達熱的時候不一定非要說「熱死了」，有些表達看起來和天氣沒關係，卻能更形象地表達熱，比如中文裡的：屋子像蒸籠一樣、汗如雨下、路上都能煎蛋了……換成英文，該怎麼說呢？
You canfry eggson the sidewalk.人行道上都可以煎蛋了。
This room islike an oven.這個房間像個烤箱。
I amsweating like a pig.我汗流浹背。（熱成狗、汗成豬，沒什麼道理可講，約定俗成的）
It's hot witha capital "H".今天真的是大寫的熱。（中文裡也經常用大寫的XX來表示程度的加深）
It'sraining fireoutside.外面是在下火吧？這麼熱！（用下火來形容很生動了）
It's hot enough tomelt hell.天氣熱得足以把地獄烤化了。
這種說法其實跟中文的流金鑠石（形容天氣酷熱，好像金石都快要熔化了）有異曲同工之妙。
hot 別用錯！
如果還是想用最普通的hot表達，千萬不要說I am hot.可以說It's hot.
hot 這個詞用在不同的習語中有不同的含義：
hot temper脾氣暴躁He has a hot temper.他脾氣很壞。
blow hot and cold猶豫不決Some people can make up their minds right away, but others blow hot and cold.一些人能很快下決心，可另一些人就老是猶豫不決。
hot off the press新鮮出爐This gossip is hot off the press.
這些流言是最新傳出來的。
hot seat責任重大的位置You make the decisions - you're in the hot seat now!
你做了這些決定，也就是說現在你得負責。
in hot water 陷於困境He's in hot water because he can't pay his debts.
他遇到麻煩了，因為他還不起債務。
想表達「多喝熱水」時，不要說hot water，因為英語中hot water指滾燙的水，可以喝的熱水用warm就行了。
