青藏鐵路是世界上最高最長的高原鐵路，全程1956公裡，其中有960公裡在海拔4000多米之上，是連接西藏和中國其他地區的第一條鐵路。由於鐵路穿越世界上最脆弱的生態系統，在建設期間和建設後都採取了生態保護措施，以確保其成為一條「綠色鐵路」。青藏鐵路大大縮短了中國內地與西藏之間的旅行時間。更重要的是，它極大地促進了西藏的經濟發展，改善了當地居民的生活。鐵路開通後，愈來愈多的人選擇乘火車前往西藏，這樣還有機會欣賞沿線的美景。

The Qinghai-Tibet Railway, the highest and longest plateau railway in the world, with a total distance of 1956 kilometers, of which 960 kilometers are more than 4,000 meters above sea level, is the first railway connecting Tibet and other parts of China. As the railway crosses the world's most vulnerable ecosystem, ecological protection measures have been taken during and after the construction to ensure it becomes a 「green railway」. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway greatly shortens the travel time between Chinese mainland and Tibet. What's more, it has greatly promoted the economic development of Tibet, improving the living conditions of local residents. After the complement of the railway, an increasing number of people choose to travel to Tibet by train, so that they will also have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery along the route.

第一句由四個短句構成，可譯為四個簡單句並列，更好的是採用非謂語動詞、介詞結構以及非限制性定語從句的方式，選擇「青藏鐵路是第一條鐵路」為主幹，其他都為修飾成分。
