現在全球都是在搞環保，但是每年產生的垃圾還是那麼的多，所以想在雅思託福的考試中，環保也算是一個恆定的話題，而在環保中垃圾也是佔據了很大一部分，那麼這些表達垃圾的單詞你都能夠正確的區分嗎？
一、waste
waste所指的是廢料廢棄物，指的是失去原有價值的，陳舊破損了的物品，是一個普通用詞，概念是很廣泛的，指的是任何被丟棄的東西，詞本身是不可數名詞，但是在表示不同種類的廢棄物時是可以用複數形式。
例如:
The city waste is disposed of in the sea.
城市垃圾倒在海裡處理掉。
The safe disposal of nuclear waste is a major problem.
安全處置核廢料是個大問題。
二、garbage
garbage區別於waste的是其主要指有機廢料，包括廚房的剩菜剩飯或不能再用的食物所形成的的垃圾，有時也可以作引申用。
例如：
The smell of the garbage overpowered me.
垃圾的臭味使我無法忍受。
You are a garbage!
你真是個廢物！
三、rubbish
rubbish與waste也是有點相近的，普通用詞，指任何成堆的、破損的、用過的、要被扔掉的無價值或無用途的東西的東西，尤指棄掉的垃圾堆，也是不可數名詞。
例如：
The dustman comes once a week to collect the rubbish.
垃圾工每周來收一次垃圾。
The rubbish had dammed up the creek so that it had overflowed.
垃圾堵塞了河流,致使溪水外溢。
四、litter
litter也是有指垃圾的意思，是四下亂丟物品的總稱，尤指散落於地，有礙觀瞻的廢物。
例如：
There was litter strewn all over the pavement.
人行道上到處都是扔的垃圾。
Litter covered the cinema floor after the film.
電影結束後,電影院的地上丟滿了垃圾。
五、debris
debris 有區別於以上幾個單詞，其著重指分解、分裂或破壞後剩下的碎片，也指零散的普通廢品。
例如：
The trucks were hauling away the debris from the accident site.
卡車拖走事故現場的殘骸。
They hunted through the debris on the floor to find the ring.『』
他們找遍了地板上的碎片去找戒指。
六、junk
junk更區別與以上幾個詞，其所指的垃圾不是真的是垃圾，比如說回收的舊汽車或大型機器，或毫無實用價值，或破爛物體。一般都是某種意義上所賦予的。
例如：
Eating too much junk food is bad for your health.
垃圾食品吃得太多對健康有害。
I will throw away all of my useless junk.
我會扔掉我所有無用的垃圾。
