Hot off the press
Hot off the press 指的是新鮮出爐的消息，新聞等等。
例如：This gossip is hot off the press.這些流言是最新傳出來的。We have just seen two examples, shall I say hot off the press, of this spirit of collaboration and consensus-seeking.我們剛剛看到了這種合作精神和建立共識方面並且成為新聞熱點的兩個例子。
Blow hot and cold
blow有吹風，打擊，吹奏等意思，加上hot and cold，延伸意是出爾反爾，搖擺不定，猶豫不決的意思。
例如：In our many dealings with the police, we have found that they can blow hot and cold.在我們多次和警察打交道的過程中，我們發現他們可能出爾反爾。Some people can make up their minds right away, but others blow hot and cold.一些人能很快下決心，可另一些人就老是猶豫不決。
Strike while the iron's hot
這個習語大家肯定經常看見了，就是我們常說的成語：趁熱打鐵。Strike 打擊，while 當...的時候，iron 鋼鐵。意指在時機成熟時，馬上採取行動，不要延誤時間。
例如：You gotta strike while the iron's hot.你最好趁熱打鐵
Get into hot water
Get into hot water也可以變成 be in hot water. 字面意思是進入到熱水中，按照我們中文的理解，那不就是 水深火熱了麼？所以習語的延伸意思差不多，就是陷入困境，身處麻煩之中。
例如：We'll get into hot water if the teacher hears about this.要是老師聽到了這個，我們就會有麻煩。We don't want to get them into hot water.我們並不想使他們陷入困境。
I've had more than you've had hot dinners
這個習語，如果大劉不說的話，實際你也可以從字面上看出表達的意思了。我做過的...比你吃過的飯還多。呵呵，是不是和我們漢語諺語中的：我吃過的鹽,比你吃過的米還多。我路過的橋比你走過的路還多 一個意思哦。
例句：I did that more often than you've had hot dinners.我幹那種事比你吃的熱氣騰騰的晚餐還要多。Young man, I've been to morefootball matches than you've had hot dinners, so you don't have to explain the rules of the game to me.年輕人，我看過的球賽比你吃過的飯還多，你用不著給我講解比賽規則。
