「暖氣」的英語是heating(英國英語)或heat(美國英語)。
現在大部分暖氣系統的原理是：在一個地方把水加熱，然後熱氣順著已經安好的管道到達各個住戶。這種系統叫central heating，也就是我們經常說的「集中供暖」。
有時候，我們會說這樣的話，「我家的暖氣壞了，摸著根本就不熱。」這個「暖氣」是指與供暖系統連接的散熱器，對應的英語是radiator。
用暖氣就要涉及到暖氣費，「暖氣費」的英語是heating costs(請注意是複數)，而「交暖氣費」叫pay the heating bill，現擴充一下交各種費的說法：
pay the phone bill 交電話費
pay the electricicty bill/electric bill 交電費(electric bill是非正式說法)
pay the gas bill 交燃氣費
pay the water bill 交水費
